4images script and High CPU Usage on Shared Hosting

    Hi friendz,

    Last night my host blocked my site and sent me an email that my site " http://www.wallpaperseek.com " is using high resources of CPU.
    I have 3000 uniques daily on my site , i am unable to find the problem with script , Can you help me , if you have ever faced this problem.

    On Thing more , I have 2 more domains on the same shared hosting account as addon domain. These 2 sites get 2500 uniques daily(both)

    Please help me.

    Now my sites are on temp server

    i had that problem b4... sorta.. my host actually told me to optimize my database. at first i deleted some of the add-ons i had, but that wasn't the problem, so they banned my database. then i pretty much just went to the database and deleted a whole bunch of entries like ratings, comments, and users. that sliced my database size in half and so far so good. my host hasn't contacted me since that happened 6 months ago.

    5,000 uniques a day? The problem is shared hosting. Time to step up to a vps in my opinion.

    i deleted all my users, ratings, and comments from the database. it sliced the database in half.

    i'm interested with what you have to say too!

    yes the script is very bad especialy with mysql connections ...

    i had to go on dedicated server for one of my site just because of this ...

    but a lot of optimizations can be done , like removing the random image and u can also read there forum a lot of topics about this issue ...

    @commandos - I was in the early planning stages of a image based site based on this software. What do you think would be a better alternative? I need to allow people to register, upload a few photos and share a blurb about each.

    i'm still using 4images :)

    because u can SEO it ... what i would recommend is try to read the forum and search for optimization in the program it self .

    like turn on caching , disable random pics ..

    search for " SERVER LOAD" you will have more info ...

    I had been one client on liquidweb, liquidweb have maximum cpu usage 15% for shared hosting, that high cpu usage .
    alternative option is hawkhost, their cpu usage maximum aaround 12%-16%.
    on liquidweb my web was suspended at more 80K UV a day. at hawkhost my web was suspended at 90K UV a day.
    other hosting , not vps, try semidedicated hosting from mddhosting or pcjaguar.
