Ranked good in Yahoo, Why not google?

So I'm ranked good for my targeted keywords in yahoo, but not google. This yahoo good ranking just hit yesterday, will google follow?

 

Not likely unless you start building quality backlinks. Yahoo pays a lot attention to on-page content as well as backlinks. However, Google gives backlinks a lot more weight than any other search engines.

You need to start building backlinks and make sure use the right keywords in your backlinks' anchor texts. This is an important way to tell Google from other sites what your site is all about. It is kinda like good references for a job applicant.

 

That's simply because Google is not Yahoo.

 

I have the opposite problem, Google and MSN I get ranking for first and Yahoo takes ages to rank for. Sometimes dont even get into Yahoo

Yahoo give more importance to number of quality backlinks. So get more quality backlinks. Use also your targeted keyword as your anchor text, it can help.

 

i m getting 5000+ backlinks from yahoo from one of my site and from google its only 56 see the difference.....

 

Google is very strict and they have a powerful filtering system but sometimes can be crappy too

I rank very well on yahoo for a few search terms but I get most of my traffic from google even though I dont rank well in google.

Both the search engine use different indexing algorithms. both of them have different criteria to answer particular search query. I Guess Google has very big database to it is showing very particular and well reputed sites first.

 

Google just like to take their time. Don't worry your site will be up there sooner or later.

hey I'm ranked very high in google, and not on yahoo or msn for the same searches. And on google position 2 and 5 out of 35,000,000 + search.

 

You should little more aggressive with off page techniques to get better rank in google.

 

You'll still get a lot more traffic from Google than Yahoo.

I dont think so. I dont think yahoo can detect quality backlinks. I have a site which get linkes from highest quality sites in its niche and still %80+ traffic is coming from google. But may be i got negative vote from google because of content sicne most of my content are very valuable code samples in that niche.

 

I always think that you should try to get ranked well in Google first since they are the biggest search engine out there. And they do generate more traffic than Yahoo or MSN.
