Just a bit of caution... Becarefull with stuffing so many keywords in meta stuff.. Just grab what gets the most searches..per month (oveture info).. I bet most them ad up to the ONE good keyword or serp .. lol
yes isn't recommend if you have multi sites, one keyword per site? and a single site (or a few) no more than 5?
Excellent advice, and yes the order can be debated.. but #1 king in terms of raw SERP ranking power, in my belief is definately Inbound link's/Anchor text. There has been so many example of 1 page wonder site's with no content or really anything going for it SEO wise flogging authority sites in the SERP by just backlink/anchor text alone. Good examples of this are "Google Bombing" sites. I could beat Wikipedia to the #1 spot for any given keyword using backlink/anchor text alone, by using a website with no content except a picture. However, i'd find it very difficult achieving the same task by using any 1 of the other ranking factors such as content, <H> tags, Meta tags etc.
Very valid point...and not going to argue especially when googles says taken from http://www.google.com/support/webma...2&query=improving+google+ranking&topic=&type= Recommended reading (even refresher) ..of the ways that I mentioned..I think (other than link) you can do it on content only.. like a blog . I sure wouldn't just use a <title>keyword</title> alone or the other ways that I mentioned!
Keywords in your meta tag will have NO effect on your google ranking, goolge doesnt acknowledge the meta keywords tag, instead, pulls the keywords from the content of your site. While other search engines do, google doesnt. So to answer your question, regardless of how well or what you put in your meta keywords, it wont matter anyway because google doesnt take them into account because of the HIGH likelyhood of abuse, keyword stuffing, spam.
The following are meta tags that google spiders/robots read (1) title tag (2)Meta Description tag (3)Meta Robots You can use Keywords in (1) and (2) and tell (3) Google robots which pages to index or not to index Also nothing with having the meta content tag in your coding...simple reason, Google ISN'T the only search engine and what happens if you get banned or lose your PR in Google..it is called SEO (Search Engine Optimization) not Google Engine Optimization
The original post was specifically asking about the "meta keyword". Guess how I know this. However, this is not a thread in an seo forum, this is a thread in the Google forum. Since the OP asked about the meta keywords tag in the Google forum, it is highly appropriate to inform him that Google doesn't read it. Any other advice is off topic. -Michael
Np, you should see how badly off topic I go sometimes. My point wasn't so much as to you being wrong or anything, it was just that okthanks was in fact right in what he said. -Michael
