Ofcourse I am very much amazed--and to be frank--one of my passtime is to check PR prediction of different sites every day:D and see how it fluctuates.

I am also amazed at how modern SEO experts downplay importance of PR for SERPs ranking. I have gone through Google's guide to webmasters several times recently and it clearly states
that after content relevancy PR is the most important thing for SERPs position.

I believe SEO gurus downplay PR because they can not put their clients' sites on top:D

Go to Link Sales and look at what they base their sales. If anyone says I don't and not purchased a link because of PR. LYING. :D

    Yep--you are right.
I know a forum owner who wanted SEO work for traffic. And he hired a SEO firm --and those people just bough links and links and links from big directories:D :D

Wonderful advocates of PR playing no importance for SERPs:D

I just do not understand either when MOST People Downplay small directory owners but they buy LINKS from these people when they are on SALE - SALE - SALE - SALE - SALE.

We need each other otherwise were would they be buying links YAHOO ?

    C'mon :D

I would just look for the # of links the DIR has when submitting, and generalize. If they have thousands of links, I doubt they'll be PR 0 next update, so it's worth submitting, right?
