Once again, Bush gives the democrats what they want and they flip flop. First Bush gave the democrats the war with Iraq they wanted, then he gave them the surge they wanted. Democrats - never can make up their minds.

What in particular leads to base your opinion of the current policy in Iraq as wrong/misguided? Anyone of stature have an opinion that swayed you directly or is it something about Bush's track record? Other/combination...?

The funny thing about a 'democracy' is that we seek concesus on things, but it's truely never what the majority thinks that critically matters...it's what the most educated in the subject think...and even their concesus means nothing, as history has displayed some rather smart but wrong people.

It goes down to what you can prove. I believe that any policy,...no matter the view of the above...needs constant review and adaptation. Although on the other note, I don't believe in persistant pessemism.

The general reason for our democratic process, imo...is to unify a country with some form of concensus. Our Republic is supposed to compose of the brightest of representatives, and it's their responsibility (from top..down) to legislate and review in our best interest. While it may not work that way all the time, it's the hope of it's composition. Although I guess that all depends on the judgement of the people.

Are you saying that the dems only vote based on the moment, instead of on the issue? sure sounds like it to me...
