Ok I keep seeing things about people buying stumbles for .05 a stumble but for the life of me I can't find how to signup for it on stumbleupon... can someone let me know the direct link where to buy the stumbles? woohoo Lindsey
You can also visit http://www.stumbleupon.com/ads/ to create a campaign and read more about it. I also posted to my internet marketing blog yesterday about running stumbleupon campaigns.
Stumble Upon is the next big thing online. Time will tell as to WHEN it will be purchased by a big corporation.
because it chan be cheaper than adwords since you can target high paying keywords for the same cost (.05$) and also because if the visitors that the stumbleupn campaign bring you thumb up your site then stumbleupon will send even more visitors to your site for FREE...you should really read drig's blog about it...it's very interesting
Fair question. I am actually using both adwords and Stumbleupon now. (thank for the link!) I just signed up and literally 10 minutes after signing up and getting approval for my "campaign" my site was being shown. I don't know how my sites will do, or if it will increase visitors, but from my understanding if I get enough thumbs ups, it will start showing up as a stumble even after I stop paying.. Just something I am trying out I can post back if I see traffic still increasing after my budget is spent Anyone have success with increased traffic after your done spending the $ for stumbleupon?
You don't need to pay for stumbles - you can exchange them for free! Have a look at www.stumbleXchange.com.
Thanks, I really appreciate it. You can use SE, but it is in violation of StumbleUpons TOS. Also, you cannot target a specific demographic with stumblexchange, only categories.
One person with a large audience stumbled my site without me running a campaign, and traffic went up 800% (from 2,000 uniques)...... So i would say a campaign through this might work really well.
so far today with my $50 budget (it's going fast) about $30 left. I have started stumbleupon campaigns for 2 of my sites www.singleatthedogpark.com and www.fairsandfestivals.net the cool thing is I get to see the percentages of thumbs up or thumbs down. So far I am right in the middle of the road.. (ouch.. ego crusher! LOL) I'll post back once all the budget is gone.
Hm, 50% thumbs up, 50% thumbs down is actually pretty bad. You want to be above 70% thumbs up, 85%+ is pretty good. You also have to know who is using stumbleupon. Since the feedback is good, Ill write another post about using stumbleupon. In all honesty, those sites probably wont convert very well.
Exactly,, my ego is bruised not getting a very good response on Stumble Upon, but then my sites arent exactly new niches or anything
Yeah, it's great you can pay through PayPal. If people couldn't do that StumbleUpon wouldn't be as successful.
You're only going to have success with SU if your site is interesting and worth visiting. People who use SU expect INTERESTING sites, not ordinary adsense or ecommerce sites.
I agree, and thats something I should have written about. I'll start writing up a follow up post soon.
I signed up as a Stumbleupon sponsor some time ago, and even getting some good traffic, I've been so busy that I haven't looked further into SU. But thanks to this thread I will give it a new look
