Hmm seems everyone has been focusing on the Online Elements of Marketing, but from a Marketing Background myself and a graduate in Marketing, here are great methods of marketing your Internet or business.

    Brouchers Or Stickers

These can be a great factor when marketing your business. If you have a forum you can have the URL on stickers and ask your friends or family to stick them in shops, cars, trees etc. People will remember your website easily and log on.

    Advertising In Local Newspapers/Local Coverage

This is a great way to maxmise the results for your business and at the same time it can help to balance your costs. You can get FREE publicity in your local paper about your website or business. Just give them a call and they will either come to your house to interview you or do an interview in their office. Its a great way of building up traffic. I was once running a forum aimed at a certain segment of the market - the local coverage resulted in 4000 uniques a day!

    Word Of Mouth

Word of mouth creates 'viral marketing' - This is another great way to spread the word out about your website or business. Its not 'spam' because if something is interesting the fact is that the 'viral effect' will take place itself rather than you having to tell the whole area in your region!

    Classified Ads in Newspapers

This is another great way to build traffic and capture leads to your website.

I used to have stickers professionally printed and hand them out to random people my age. Then I'd create videos of my friends and I vandalizing property with the stickers :)

I consider "word-of-mouth" to be the most POWERFUL way of advertising. To answer your question, yes I have dont offline marketing. Most of it included advertising in related trade publications and newspapers.

    You're kidding me?

Offline marketing is when you market your business/website/venture "OFFLINE", no Internet involved.

For example, TV and Radio are Offline marketing methods. Same goes for Newspapers....

That was funny... poor guy just trying to help

Traditional Marketing is and always will be the core. Online marketing is growing, but traditional "offline" marketing will always be around and strong.

    Some above, and add to:

    Tv
    Radio
    Newspapers
    Classifieds
    Magazines
    Mailers
    Billboards
    Etc...
