Another big vBulletin fan here. I've got four licenses. I've tried phpbb and smf both, but I like vBulletin the best.

Vbulletin; I am so glad that I made the right move. PhpBB & SMF are good (free) alternatives though.

I'm also tired to see the same question and the same poll over and over, and over.

Use the search function at the top to find a dozen of related thread with their respective opinions and results.

If you don't bother the money, that's definitely vBulletin.

I used to work almost 3 years on phpBB, but after moving to vB..., it's a big change - great support, VERY easy customization, almost no need to modify the files, almost couldn't be better as it always can and probably will :D

phpBB is great when you're starting the forums and you're not certain if your idea is gonna work and so you just don't wanna loose your money.

I use wowbb & snitz. I have used phpbb in the past. But I voted for vbulletin. Feature wise vbulletin is indeed better.

I was waiting for a topic like this to appear, never thought it would. My favourite is phpBB.

How about some points to suggest your reasons for whichever forum software being your favourite?

    Mine
    • Easy to Modify Templating System
    • Plenty of Modifications available for basically anything
    • Plenty of Styles/Templates available
    • Simple and Easy to Use (my users also like it)
