google is pretty good at determining who the duplicate is.. but I know, it sucks and I cant get over why people even bother.

I guess the reason people do it is so that they get a launching platform.

I used to get really angry at people copying my ideas but after chasing people round from host to host I realised you just can't stop website theft.

In the end I actually approached my most successfull duplicator and offered him a deal, I'd leave him alone and let him have the duplicate if he gives me a share of the revenue. He agreed.

In a way we have both benefited, he got a kickstart by stealing my content, and now, I'm earning revenue from his content. In fact its been 3 years since the incident and I am still getting revenue from his site. I checked his site about 5 months ago and most of my content was gone and replaced with his own content.

When I asked him why he'd removed my content he said that he was worried about having duplicate content and he was only using my content temporarily to launch his site.

The issue of Google penalizing sites for duplicate content still arises. but we are just going to have to accept that content gets duplicated all over the internet.

Maybe oneday Google will change this stupid rule.
