I just created a paypal account for internet transaction. FYI that I lives in Indonesia. After I created the account, I told my friend and he tried to sent some money, but he received an error indicated that my account only available to send money not received. First I think becuase I'm not expanded yet. After 4 days, after it being expanded, I tried again. And it still not available to received. When I created paypal account, there is no warning (I think) that some country will not be able to receive money. Maybe my country blacklisted by paypal. So, I have a paypal account and wasted %1.95 for expanded program, that only good for spending... if only I have the money to spend.
Indonesia is listed on the Country list at https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-approved-signup-countries-outside . It is the link on the front page 'Paypal Worldwide' link. No, you will not lose the $1.95 expanded use program as the money will be returned to you.
Indonesia is newly added to PayPal allowed countrie's List (If I am not wrong) and therefore you can only send money. You can't receive money to your PayPal account as off yet.
Maybe you have a regular account and you can't receive credit card paypal payments...Don't know if that was the case.
Not a good idea. If you try to do this then you need to log into Paypal using that different country's IP address, get a credit card from that country to verify the account and also may require other proof of identity if you do that. It is also against paypal TOS which may get your account limited when they find out.
dont try to create another account with different country. Your account will be locked soon. Indonesia is in the same status with my country, Vietnam. Our accounts can send money only, cannot receive currently. Hope Paypal expands soon
I already did when my account not yet expanded, and still received no reply (more than 4 days). I hope their email not ended in my junk folder.
Thats true. Before we (indonesian) can't open an account in paypal because indonesia not listed in their countries list. Maybe they will wait and see how we behave I remember I can't select indonesia in networksolutions, they remove indonesia from their countries list, so when try to update my contact, I had to choose Belgium (HQ).
Maybe that the case. Maybe I open personal account. So, should I upgrade to at least premier account? Will it cost more? Need anum payment? Sorry, asked too much. I'm affraid if I upgrade to premier account, paypal will charged my CC.
Indonesia is listed in the countries which can only send paypal payments as indicated in https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-approved-signup-countries-outside so no matter what type of account you set up, be it personal, premier or business account, you will still not be permitted to receive payment. So since you cannot receive, all the types of accounts would appear to have the same feature for you. No, there is no annual fees for premier or business account unless you pay, receive or withdrawal money. Payment and Withdrawal would be subjected to the foreign exchange charges. Wait till Indonesia goes up the list to receive funds then open another account, be it Premier or Business account and keep your personal account for your personal transactions.
