    Hey everyone,

I've heard lots of discussions regarding the best directory script and so, however there's been lots of talking and nothign happening lately, so I have a challenge to every directory script owner, please tell us which script you are using, and all features it support.

So say what your scripts name is and what features it support, and we will compare all together.

Now what's good is everyone is allowed to judge, ok?

Now what are you waiting for reply below ;)

    Regards,
    WatchOut

PHPLD - 3.1 is what i'm using on one site. I love it because I can just mass delete whole tons of wrongly submitted sites. I'm using 3.04 I think on another one, which is pretty good and stable so I can't even be bothered upgrading. I just got used to it. The script doesn't give me any problems and mostly I can get help if I need it. I also use 2.1 on another one and that's good too. So what can I say. Its all good. The owners are on top of security issues as well, and actively manage the whole show. There is also a massive network of template makers and code gurus available.

Since I haven't felt the need to try another one I can't really comment on them fairly.

I’m using the TOLRA Directory Script.

I find it’s very versatile and depending on how you configure it you can have just a description for each listing or you can enable a detail page for each listing and have 5 additional URL’s and/or a full page of text with image.

It does have a lot of other features as well, which are all listed at http://www.tolranet.co.uk/software/directoryscript/

Lets put the features of the free scripts up for comparison, not talk the talk as thats a load of crap. We all know dp is quickly turning into a phpld fan club, if I never knew better I'd swear threads were being directed by them

So lets cut to the chase, lets list the features once and for all and stop cooing over scripts without putting facts in front of us and restoring credability to this otherwise fantastic forum.

No-one asking which one's James Bond's favourite? The post asks for you to list features! Welll done Rod

It is quite expensive and without a free version though? Or did I miss it?
    http://www.tolranet.co.uk/software/directoryscript/ - Trial version - 20 Links?

I think this is the kind of thing people need to know, I'll throw my hat in here, FEATURES OF PHPLYNX (FREE)

Oh, and before people comment on the fact the rest of this site isn't complete, I'm aware of that, its the features we are showing, and all these are FREE as is the SUPPORT.

Come on phpld and the others, you got a lot of fans here lets see your features compare to the other scripts.

That wasn't the question posed, we know which ones have the biggest fan clubs, we want to know which one has the best features primarily free.

What's this shit "By choice we prefer phpld" You telling me this forum is run by phpld?

No its not cantufind. :) It's just people are mostly used to using the script. I find it easy to use to since I am no Techie. I tried another script and its seems ok but not yet fully supported. There's some people who drinks Coca-Cola for a reason and Pepsi for another but it seems that Coca-Cola is most popoluar that's why globally they just say Coke to anything. Give some people ample time to get used to other scripts and you might want to promote your script in a friendly manner instead.

We are expanding more as i have 2 more additons on my staff who recently joined and 1 is from India. We will be going to try site-script and we'll look into yours. Give it a little bit of time. Put a lot of ads or promotions. Incentives are good. Explanations are needed. There are lots of ways and means and don't let your cool be overcomed it won't help.

Drop me a line and we can talk of some possibilities.

    ;)

Here we go again, Read the original thread posted by Watchout popotalk,

The challenge thrown down by watchout was script comparision, not me promoting, (I haven't started yet). Why are the "self proclaimed industry leaders" so coy about saying what features they have? Are they really that embarrassed about its poor quality?

Oh, and thanks for the advice mate, appreciated but this ain't about me or promotion of my script, its about script features and comparisons?

My favorite is my own script at http://www.vinabet.net .
    Script name: no name.
Feature: Basic directory features with terrible admisnistration features.

But I love it. For no reasons :D .

Hope that you didn't talk about my script :D .
