I was going through aviva's list of strongest directories and noticed that not far from the top of the list are directories that have high page strength scores but pr0 homepages. Does this mean that G is starting to devalue the second tier directories?

    Hello...

If changes arent made soon and the 1000s of garbage collecters being created daily stopped then we will become extinct and worthless soon.

Our industry is being saturated with less then honest directory owners and crap directories that you pay good $$$ and a few weeks later remove links or worse claim databases errors on purpose to clear room for more ginne pigs.

Change is mandated and standards need to be imposed before google
destroys us all over a few rotten apples.

    But
change is on the horizen as more directory owners will see the light
and modify systems to uphold quality standards and drive the dead beats and
    scammers out off business.

    thx

A directory has to start somewhere, and those with a lower or no PR have page strength for a reason.

Agreed, although I do not put to much into page strength it does show what the owners are up to and that they are least building links and tring to make the directory more powerful, so with that said I guess even though they are pr 0 they may still be a good buy.

Just curious which ones? It would be possible to have a high page strength with 0 PR, but not likely.

Also, I think that you are fine with a high page strength directory even if it has a home page of PR0 as long as the page you are submitting to is recently cached in Google. If Google is regularly caching the page and all the other signs are good, the PR of the home page doesn't matter much.

Only the strong will survive... or more acturately only the established will carry any proper weight in regards to PR etc.

    Hi Britishguy

It shows pr0 when I look at it in explorer with the google toolbar. I was originally looking at it with the firefox add on that shows page rank and alexa ranking. I was looking at a wikipedia page that was pr 5 the last time I looked and now it shows 0 also - I'm wondering if there is something wacky going on with the toolbars - is there a place where you can definitively look up the current pr of a page?

Not sure about 100% accurate but this seems pretty accurate
    http://livepr.raketforskning.com/
This has been pretty good with PR for the last few months
    Good luck with it :)

Right...I find my directory sales increasing...cause I constantly work on them and they are aged a bit now (though they might look simple in design)
