Joomla is the best ?

hi, i want to build a new site and i want to use a CMS. what are you advise me ? JOOMLA ?

 

Joomla and mambo are nice if u know how to edit and deal with it .

if u want soemthing easy i'll go with www.wordpress.org

 

For me E107 is the easist to use, theie CMS i find to be very user friendly, but have never been a great fan with restrictive websites and with any CMS you are always slightly restricted unles you are atop notch programmer.

 

try drupal or modx..

Joomla is Mambo's reincarnation in fact, and there is also a flat text version called Limbo.

I don't think Joomla is the best but a sort of commodity available as one-click installation in most hosting services, just like WordPress, which is a blog not a CMS exactly though it can be used for such purpose.

I like E-107 too, lots of skins and plugins, the same as Seditio, www.neocrome.net

 

I like mambo, there is alot of contributions available to alter the specifications.
Works fine for me

 

Drupal is better than Joomla. I have used both and liked drupal better.

 

WORDPRESS !

 

Wordpress would be a great choice if you want it simple and easy and dont want to build on it later on.
But, if you think you would want to build a large authority type of site, then you could surely use joomla for it and then use some tutorials to go over it step by step.
I have also used video tutorials for joomla and found that it really helped me and shortened my learning curve by a lot.
I have also built a site where i have written whatever I have learnt from the videos. Didnt watch all the videos till now.
But i am just a non techy and dont want to go very fast.

 

If you are a newbie and want to make a site very quickly then wordpress would be the correct choice.

i have 2 web sites with joomla and i can say that joomla is the best i have ever seen

 

i am using Joomla on 2 istes as well and thats great thing to use! you have got many options in Joomla just need to visit http://extensions.joomla.org

 

I use joomla and wordpress depending on what my website needs.

As noted, unless you are quite a good programmer, joomla can be quite difficult to fit into your sites needs as it can be quite bloated. Also templates can be quite restrictive and you'll probably need to code your own modules at some point.

 

Once again, Wordpress is blogging software, not CMS

Even though does the trick and it's definitely easy to manage in comparison with true content managemet systems

 

I would go for Joomla! and get Wordpress installed as an extension, that is actually possible.
That way, you can have your blog powered by the famous WP software, while leaving enough space for other sections on the website, such as directories, media galleries, forums etc etc
