That's not quite accurate. Either you've boughten into the fear mongering or putting forth a total inaccuracy. Maldives is 1.5m above sea level on average. Worst case scenario of "global warming" is 59 cm/century that the oceans will rise. So it'd take several centuries for it to happen. What's actually funny about this is; is that if countries were allowed to build nuclear reactors as they wanted to before the environmentalists protested, there'd be less "global warming" gasses expelled. Now, we have environmentalists actually encouraging the use of nuclear reactors because they are more environmentally friendly. I love irony!
Many islands have already disappeared and many others are disappearing day by day! It is a serious issue for us!

high or low temperatures in a given area don't prove or disprove global warming. it is simply the weather at the given time. that kind of argument is very sophmoric. there are actual, real problems with the global warming problems, but that is not part of it.

Why aren't the left wing news media showing pictures of the natives walking around up to there knees in water. They love that kind of tragedy, why not show it for hours on end between commercials for cold remedies and retirement funds?

Global warming is a myth...at the best, we have FACTUAL temperature and weather records going back 175 years...before that, we have nothing...so basically, scientists have to PREDICT and ASSUME what the temperature of the earth was 200 years ago and before...furthermore, we know the earth has gone through ice ages, as well as warm spells....speaking of facts, did you know the earth has only risen in temperature 1 Degree F in the last 100 years? During the Ice Age, the earth cooled almost 30 degrees C (not F) in a single year....hmm...blame it on bush and cheney, its all their fault!!
