Dutch parliament member Geert Wilders is being demanded to apologize by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Muslims for making statements that half of the Quran should be ripped out and thrown away. And that there are enough terrible things written in the Quran.

His response to the demanded apology.

Interesting to see how this will develop.....

Here is a English news item on it.

Here we go again from North Europe will as usual generate publicity then just fade away

We will have to wait to find out what the political agenda is behind these comments, could be that behind these comments there is some trade agreement that is in dispute

Hence these comments might be a leverage to get the real story to surface

This is the real story :)
It's not the first time he is making "controversial" statements like this in the press.

    That's his point of view.

We'll have to wait until next Friday to see the fallout of this one. If the usual pack mob mentality of burning, bombing, rock chunking, killing, stabbing, torching and general destruction is going to happen, it will be after Friday prayers.

In addition, they'll need to time to prep the selected clerics to go on TV afterwards to convince the world that those doing all the burning, bombing, rock chunking, killing, stabbing, torching and general destruction are the victims.

That is, if he isn't "Theo Van Gogh'd" first.

He is guarded 24h round the clock, it wouldn't be that easy to pull a Theo van Gogh on him.
A lot of idiots are out for him.

Hopefully this will spark a debate and the violent parts of the Quran will be discussed in public.

That guy will probably be shot or stabbed.

It's not like it hasn't happened before.

Sad that it's required in this kind of world. Once you have a voice, you must have guards.

And they call themselves the religion of peace. I hate hypocracy in religion especially mine own, Christianity. But this is so bare-faced, this spreading of hatred, that I am amazed they can actually talk their followers into saving up money for bombs instead of deoderant. What in the world is wrong with these people?

Do you think his point of view derives from an educational stance?
It's more an point of view concluded on empirical evidence for everyone to obtain.

Hopefully, this will spark a debate and the violent parts of the Bible and Torah will be discussed in public.
Anything seems violent when you take it out of context.

Such as, Jesus "says" in the Bible, I have not come to bring peace to this earth, but a sword.

But everyone knows the message of Jesus was about peace and love.

Very irresponsible statement, concidering that the cartoon created such a big furore where many people lost their lives & livelyhood , this is really a stupid thing to say irrespective of the fact that it might be true or false.

If people riot because he will not appologize, that is the fault of the people who riot, and cannot accept that a person has a right to his opinion, and they can't force him to change it or keep quiet just because they demand it.

Now they can chose not to vote for him, as seems likely, and they would be partially responsible for his not retaining his position. They can choose to protest and attempt to get him removed. They would be responsible for the result of the protest. If they riot, they are also responsible for the results of the riot.
