http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17202448/?GT1=9033 This is really sad but the question that came to my mind was how did his TV remain on after a year of not paying any bills and no one in the neighborhood noticed the smell.
Well, if his electricity was being automatically paid for from his bank account, that had his savings cash in there I can see nobody noticing. I'm surprised the electrical company didn't find it odd that the exact amount of electricity was being used on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. And that neighboors didn't notice him. Although I look at my neighboors, and the extent of our communication is I wave to them when seeing them, and they do same. I don't think they know anything about me except my last name, and thats only because its on the mailbox.
So technically, by determining the time of his death, they can look up what was on TV last year on the channel that he was watching at the time of his death
Yea.....thats the neighborhood I want to live in....... " neighbors say..we never thought to check on him" Nice.......real nice
Very interesting. The TV lasted and was turned on for more than one year. I have to know the brand of that TV and buy it!!!
In the first paragraph this is what is says HAMPTON BAYS, N.Y. - The partially mummified body of a man dead for more than a year has been found in a chair in front of his television, which was still on, authorities said
wow .. a surprisin news... the question is he didn't have any friends ???? who came to his house or tried to contact him in a yr ...
thats the problem with our neigbourhood, exspecially in big city, before i move to the city , i live in small village. in my village ,neigbours are like family, they watch for each other. but in the city we hardly see our neigbour and worst dont even know their name.
sad, but thats how i would sooner go, i fear knowing someone is about to kill me, that is my greatest fear, because it happend once before when i just turned 15, i was in hospital for 6 weeks after he left me for dead. so dying alone at home, is the way for me. sleep and never wake up. painless, and peaceful.
that was scary. i mean, the fact that "the so-called life" inside the TV went on even int the absence of a viewer. sorry for the social commentary. but i do hope the old guy died peacefully at least.
