From a SEO perspective...Yes However if it is related to the topic of the forum it may actually be invaluable. All depends on your site/product
Well it does help with indexing, but it also does sometimes help with search results but it will only benificial if you were the thread start since also you also get a link back to your site. But you will also gain some click throughs from forum readers. just think about it; FREE ADVERTISING so i have no complaints good luck, Marty
I had a site hit PR1, then PR4 with only some related content forum links, although it did take about 9 months to do so.
I wouldnt suggest posting on forums just for links, but hey if your there anyways why not. (looks down at sig)
I asked DaveN about easy inks recently in an interview, his reply was: The way I always think about links is…If it’s really hard to get one link from a site then it’s worth getting… if all you have to do it click a button to add your URL then don’t you think it’s pretty worthless (eg. Blogs, guestbooks, directories etc..)
I dunno. I have heard they don't help much if any so I never put one up here. I have been watching my ranking on two sites pretty carefully so will do a little test and see putting them in my sig helps at all.
Yea, Signature links help I see traffic to my sites all the time from forums I don't know if they will get you page rank, but, I do see traffic generated from Signature links all the time.
ya I think. it can help. I'll try if does works. I would like to post. but I'm not required for now to post my signature.
One way to look at it is, the links being advertised and if some topic in a forum is widely read and contributed to, the spiders will index the page and your links get indexed too.
I do actually click on few signature links if they interest me. But they do help a lot in indexing and pr (imho).
Whether or not they help for ranking depends on the current PR. If your PR is low then adding a hundred sig links could be beneficial also for the PR. A high PR site will only benefit traffic wise.
