How to Link Directly to CB Products in Adwords?

    Hi guys,

I want to try direct linking to CB products in Adwords, but having trouble doing it.

I've tried using the hoplink as the destination url and the merchant url as the display url, because some folks said that it's ok to use a redirect as the destination url as long as we use the page url where the visitors will end up as the display url.

But it seems that everytime I did this, Google slapped me with high minimum bids on the keywords that I entered. And from what I read at http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=6314, even though Google allows different destination url, it seems that the url should be part of the site (sharing the same domain name?)

I've also tried using javascript framing, and even though this reduced the minimum bids significantly, the cookie is not working. The order page said affiliate=none. Not mentioning that framing is against both Adwords and CB TOS.

So, is there a way to do direct linking to CB products in Adwords?

    Thanks,
    Zaki

I have done it and it seems to be working ok. Been doing it for 5 or so days though....maybe not soon enough for Turkey Google Slap. My CTR has hit 1% and is slowly moving upwards.....I know..I know still quite low but its heading in the right direction.

If Google's slapped you for a high min CPC bid, it's not because your Display URL and Destination URL don't match - it's likely because your ad title, ad text, Landing page, or account performance warrents a poor quality score. Try reading up a bit more on how Google relates QS to your ad pricing, make adjustments, and I'm guessing your CPC will go to normal bids, even if you're direct linking.

By the way, it's just fine to have the Destination URL as your affiliate link, and the display URL as the merchant's sell page if you like.

    Hi guys,

I've talked to an "Adwords Specialist" (not sure if this is really a specialist or just a customer support guy) and it seems that Telmari is right, the problem is not because of the unmatch display and destination url, it's because of the (my merchant?) landing page content.

I even asked this guy several times to make myself sure if it's really ok to use a destination url that's in a different domain then the display url if it redirects to the url in the display url (so the visitors still end up in the display url) and he said that it's ok.

This is off course if this Adwords specialist (or customer support guy) really knew what he's talking about.

    Regards,
    Zaki

Yeah, if his page is not keyword optimized for your ad and keywords that you're bidding on, its not going to help you much, you might either make a landing page, or just promote something else.

Everything that Telmari and your adwords specialist told you is right.

This is a major inconvenient of the Google Cash method. If your merchant's page is not relevant, YOU will suffer because you will pay more.

Bottom line is that you should use your own landing page and build your own business and list.
