Bush Plan to send more Troops to Iraq Rejected !

The U.S. House of Representatives easily passed 246-182 a non-binding resolution Friday rejecting President Bush's plan to send more troops to Iraq.
    http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/02/16/us.iraq.ap/index.html
Pelosi will now start piling pressure on Bush to bring the troops home, so a 'political tug of war' will now be ongoing as Bush intentions are to increase the supply of troops not decrease

    What will unfold next?

As you pointed out, it's a "non-binding" resolution, which means it's not worth the paper it's written on. Bush will continue with the troop surge. The only thing congress can really do to stop it is to cut off funding, which they will never do. It would be political suicide.

Very true. It means absolutely nothing.

Bush virtually has carte blanche anyway so it don't mean a shit to anyone, the disaster out there will continue unabated.

This is the season of politics in D.C.. Folks like Biden vamping up for a shot at the White House. I personally recommend nobody even listens, now is the perfect time for the headphones. Some Beatles, maybe alittle Leo Kottke. Some old Santana. Some new Coco Montoya. Blind Faith for those topically inclined.

The next step will be to hold the Bush clan accountable for the money they spend on the war. This will be done by congress and senate actually having an influence on the plans bush usually gets approved without any major changes.

John Murtha will lead the way next month, full story here.

Have you noticed how happy, relaxed and confident Bush has appeared this week? What is he up to? Very worrying.

 harhar>>>Check out Virgil Goode's (Virginia) speach.

The wheels of democracy have just started turning again.

Here in the UK we have hardly seen anything of Bush in the media within the last couple of weeks.

I always worry when that happens. Something is cooking and it has 4 letters, starting with an I and ending with an N.

Gee I am not very clever and the only word I can come up with 4 letters is

    IRAN

    Is that correct ?
If so is Muqtada Al Sadr there

Does Mr Bush want to go there to blow his f**king head off

You guessed it in one mate. :D

Pretty much every logical thinking person in the western world is against it, except for one draft dodging cocaine snorting lunatic.

It also has 4 letters, starting with a B and ending in a H.
But what he really is also contains 4 letters, beginning with a C and ending with a T. ;)

If congress really wanted to do something, they would deny the funding....but the dems will never do that, because if they do shrillary will never become president, and the dems will be out of power in 2 years...

Actually it fell four short from being a majority, so it was a failure. Giving indication that not *all* democrats are willing to sell America out for their Bush hatred. Just *a lot* of them.

Agreed! Your buds in Iraq are facing disaster. So much so, some are reporting their rather timely departure ;)

Now they're just arguing that the insurgents are playing possum until we leave.

It can't possibly be because we're actually making progress.

They'll be slaughtered like they were when we first showed up. They're not playing possum. They're dead. If they show their face, they're dead.

I remember Baghdad Bob. Obviously the democrats and some republicans don't.

As long as Bush is in charge we could leave tomorrow and if they rose up we'd go right back there and kick their ass. They're hoping we'll pull out right before a democrat is elected president. That way they could rise back up and nobody would do anything about it.

But never a bad word for terrorists...eyes are watching, gworld ;)

No, that can be credited to the media and left wing nuts spewing hatred, thanks to Al Gore inventing the internet since the last war.
