GoDaddy Webhosting

What do u think about godaddy.com webhosting?

 

well i hate them as a domain registrar but their hosting looks ok. Not as good value as ebay though...

 

The control panel takes a little time to learn.

They aren't going to close down shop overnight and the uptime seems good.

 

I bought the Deluxe hosting and a domain from them. So far so good.

 

I only buy domains from godaddy, but I think there hosting is great.
There a very very creditable company.

 

Only domains, have a few Vded servers with them though.
Great support and great prices.

 

I lost a client to godaddy before but got him back because he relised they were overselling, not only that when he said he was leaving they doubled his space and bandwidth without him asking for it, he told me "its like they're trying to take over the hosting industry". I have used there control panel before with another domain name provider and never liked it so moved all our domains away from them because it takes some getting used too and in my business you cant lose anytime.

 

I use them as a reg but not as hosting...I have heard lots of negatives about their hosting, just do a search here in the forums for more info, you will find lots.

 

Well their hosting isnt bad till you ahve less than 100 visitors per day..as soon as it exceeds the problems start showing

 

I've heard the shared hosting has troubles, but that the virtual hosting is pretty decent.

 

Godaddy pretty much sucks at everything, except customer support. That's one unrivaled thing. Every time I call in I get the desired result. But I'd rather not have to call in in the first place... so I'd go with someone else.

 

I use them for domains but for hosting its a no no. They don't have cPanel their panel is hard to use.

I use GoDaddy exclusivly for all my sites (well except for my Top Pick Videos blogger site). I buy all my domains through them as well.

I run my Wikipedia mirror with 4.5+ million records using their $7 deluxe hosting package.

The great thing about the deluxe hosting is that you can host as many domains and subdomains as you can fit on the same account. With all my sites I'm up to about 12GB of storage space used up out of 100GB available.

It may not be the most feature rich host but I know PHP so I can write my own scripts to do what I want. For example, importing 4.5 million records into a database.

I have all my domains and hosting with them. If you have a problem you will get a response to your emails within 2 hours. That’s my experience anyway. I’ve never had any problems with them.

 

Does anyone know if your able to upgrade your hosting package with godaddy?

Say if i took the Economy plan and then later on needed the deluxe plan, would i be able to do that?

I am also hosted with GoDaddy. They are good with both domains and hosting. But for Virtual dedicated & dedicated there are better options available.

 

I am thinking about registering a VPS with them. People have said that shared is slow, but I hope they better manage their VPS.

Also, does anyone know if they allow proxy sites?
I sent them an email a few hours ago so I'll post tommrow!
