Post your favorite UNDERRATED Actors

My picks:

Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs and Taxi Driver, among many others)

and

Richard Gere (Officer and a Gentleman, Shall We Dance, Pretty Woman, etc)

Both have careers that span decades and both were involved in highly celebrated films--Keitel in Taxi Driver and Gere in Chicago. Yet Oscar awards eluded both.

Name your favorite "underrated actor" (at least, when it comes to Oscar awards).

 

Tony Shaloub (Monk)

 

James Woods, Harvey Keitel, James Caan , not really underrated but surely not bigger actors but who can overshadow the biggest of actors.

 

That's one way to look at it.

 

Rob Schneider, he's an underrated actor/comedian.

 

Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley, Christian Bale

 

I like Claire Forlani, she's cute

 

Billy Bob Thornton

 

He's a good actor. Enjoyed his work in Slingblade and Monster's Ball.

 

Gael Garcia Bernal is realy good.

Sorry guys if this sounds stupid.. but what exactly do you mean by underated actor?

 

Agreed - Ben Kingsley has tremendous range - from Gandhi to Sexy Beast where he plays a brutal gangster....

 

Retesh Deshmuk (Bollywood actor)

 

someone not so well known compared to alist actors but is actually very good, at par with alist actors in terms of acting skills.

 

hmmm, that's a tough one to pull out of the air.
this guy came to mind for some reason: Steve Buscemi

He's pretty good. Dug him as Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs

 

Audrey Tautou from Amelie (I love that french film!). I think she's underrated because she's um... from France.
