No one can say "I am the King of the King", and no one can challenge to retain his position in SERP's. It is continuous learning, alaysing, implementing process. Keeping the top position in serp's are the most toughest process in seo.

Your right I think it's easy to get up in SERP's but it's hard to stay on the top. That is the real challenge...

Just keep paying money with Adwords to stay at the top. Why pay for SEO? :D

Most companies would pay well over $75,000 to rank for "buy a car", well the ones that sell cars anyway. You however cannot guarantee that result for $75,000 or $75,000,000.

Actually nobody in the world can guarantee what a third party would do.

Now if you are one of the following then you need to learn a great deal more about business.

    1. A webmaster who wants a site ranked on the front page of Google with a guarantee.

    2. A SEO who offers a guarantee of front page results on Google organic.

You see SEO is part art, part science and most like a defense lawyer.

If you commit a crime and hire a lawyer you are in a game of 50 / 50 either you win or you lose but the lawyer will not guarantee you that he will win!!!!

Nor should any SEO guarantee what a 3rd party (search engine) will do with regards to organic listings!!!

An SEO can offer a guarantee of their work but not the results.

By the way lest anyone think "buy a car" is a good keyword term.. it truly is not....you see very very very few people in the world are going to drop a car in a shopping cart.

Another issue is those who search in the organic results are "research minded" visitors... not looking to purchase.

A smart marketer would make sure the car dealer is # 1 in paid search especially in the local markets and would some how capture the lead from a click through on the paid ad.

    As for long term rankings

    police products - securityandsafetysupply.com

    September 2007 will be 4 years at 1, 2, or 3 every month. :D

Agree... You can do good in a field but no one can be perfect in it. Perhaps practice does not make anybody perfect at all. :)

I think there are some fields you can be perfect. For example how much time does it take you to learn how to go to the bathroom...
I think most of us got that perfect by now... or unless you still piss in your bed. :p

Everytime I think I've got my site optimized just right, I learn something new. 2 Weeks ago I completely reoptimized one of my sites thinking that "Yeah this is as good as it gets".

A few days ago I learned a lot more about SEO and I ended up reoptimizing again!
