How much keywords should used in META TAG

Can anybody help me to sort out how many keywords use in keyword meta tag, too much will treat as SPAM, right ?

20-30 is good ?

Well I dont think theres a "best" number but its somewhere around 200 characters. Just write something that explains your page with your keywords that will want ppl to click on it. (this product is (w/e) come see why) or something liek that.

 

i normally use 3 - 5 keyword phrases "i sell widgets" & "buy widgets here" etc, 30 keywords in my opinion is spammy.

 

I think 30 keywords are really spammy, you should use about 10-15.

 

I also prefere 20 -30 words (maximum).

 

my opinion is up to 50-60 characters

 

I have seen some sites have them around 300 characters too, with no probs.
If you don't repeat the same words, I think 200-250 characters are good enough, to be on the safer side.
Keep the important ones at start in the sequence.

I have seen many sites with lots of keywords stuffed in their keywords meta tag but I wouldnt recommend this practice to new sites.

 

About 30 words is good, but like kianah said, don't use the same keyword multiple times.

 

I would limit it to under 10 or less than 15 MAX. What you should concentrate on should be on description meta tag instead.

And you should use the main keyword twice

 

I heard that Google don't care the keywords in meta tag.
but if you want to put keywords in meta tag 200-250 is still ok

 

Not so true...

The truth is 80-150 characters for meta desription and meta keywords. And 80 characters (max) for <title>

believe it or not i got some pages WITHOUT keywords meta tag that rank better than optimized ones. and i mean, competition ones.
they optimized their keywords meta tag, "keyword a " "keyword b" etc etc and they rank poorly... guess the secret is Title-Description... good for me!
