Having my blog content picked up by Google news?

I see popular blog websites like Autoblog have their content show up in places like Google and Yahoo news.
How can I get my content to show up in resources like that to help drive traffic to it?

    Thanks -

You just gave the answer out yourself. Look at what makes them popular..good content which helps their readers.

i think google would only pick your blog if you've got super informative content that people must know.

I was thinking they are using some type of service to submit their articles to news outlets?

In the past Google News rejected me because I am a single person running a site. Even though I promote (through my blog) local events which is actually news.

Were you able to submit your site somehow to be rejected?

How do I get a site included in News Alerts?

    Thanks :D

If you are in Google News Index, you are in the alerts.

If you have a blog and a user chooses comprehensive (includes blogs) then you will be in the alerts.

Otherwise, it gets the data from the Google News index.

    lol. .

dont you get the meaning of the word "news" > :(

Google considers News very seriously.. and they do not allow Unverified sources of information into their news array, thus, its pretty hard to get your presence into Google News... even though if you post good/original content
