Are Social Networking Sites against Adsense TOS?

I have been to some sites using Social Networking scripts and most of them are not using Adsense. With the amount of traffic that I see, I mainly see those quirky Flash, "KNock out for a prize" ads and hella pop ups. Are they just using an alternative or are the against TOS of Adsense.

 

Myspace uses Adsense!

 

CTR is probably very low but Page Views are very high, so CPM is the best choice for them

 

They aren't against their TOS but the CPM rate google gives them sucks, so does the CTR. Google doesn't like big sites making big money.

Its not that. Its just that the ads are often low paying.

 

Social Networking sites would get garbage money from adsense their best bet is with them "knock out for a prize" ads.

Which ad company uses these type of ads? I am curious to see how they pay.
