Criticism needed for new banner

I made a banner today and I need some Criticism on it to find a way to improve my design skills, anyway here is the banner, tell me what you think:

nice design, redz. How about changing the color to be more vivid? I think the color is too fade.

 

I will try that, the only reason I used these colors was to match the site I am putting it on and also because they are earth toned.

 

I don't like the stroke that much...try using a gradient.

 

I'd say mess with some filters or text effect to get a nice looking text shine/glow to it. Good start, just seems it could be polished more.

I do love your banner - it's neat, it's enough simple (to match the your "natural" idea), colours are properly chosen. However, I also would lay stress on some colour accentuation and the usage of some glittering (/glowing or any other of the sort) effect to make it a banner to remember.

why not use the web 2.0 glass like effect

Yes, I also think that you have a nice concept but the colors or the shade of the colors that you used made it too simple

I personally think the design needs an update.. something web 2.0 and modern! Can you design icon similar to yellowicon.com (to view the style). If yes, I would make your globe like that to make it more appealing. Good start on the colors though
