You must give out a lot of infractions,

You'd need fifty mods to see all the "pm sent" / "pm on way" / "Please pm me"

As there's thousands of them. well loads :p

Whats the point of the rule if you can only give it to a % of people ? how's that fair ?

That's like asking what's the point of a law since you can't possibly catch everyone who breaks it. Plus, you have no idea what % of people get infractions. The majority of people who get them never post about it.

Lets say you get your hosting from Company A. Have done for years, very happy with the service.

Company A posts advertising their hosting.

You can't give them an iTrader because you didn't participate in that thread.

Posting isn't the issue, but I can see how that might be interpreted.

No, you don't need 50 mod, but people who love the forum and take their time to report when they see something wrong

I just got an infraction for posting the thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2349766 in the copywriting forum looking for a copywriting partner. I did think about posting in the services forum but when I checked the copywriting forum there was a stack of posts with people looking for work and/or serivces.

Why was mine highlighted and not any of the others, have a look there are loads in there?

The key to moderation is consistency.

most of the time, a mod don't come down and check every single thread. If you think it is unfair, report the thread that you think it violate the forum rules

Report misplaced threads and they will be moved.

    You were not singled out.

First, (I didn't search the thread for this) why are the "rules" in this thread, different then the forum rules posted in the Navbar? I think that if they matched, there would likely be less complaining about "unfair" infractions. Honestly, this is the FIRST time I've been in "suggestions & feedback" and likely the least place I'd expect to find site rules.

They are close, but do not match...

(this part I did try searching for & found nothing)
I'd like this better defined, as according to this, if I have a site about the "letter Q" in my sig, and someone starts a thread wanting to know about that letter, then I'll get an infraction for linking to it...

If linking to a relevant site is worthy of an infraction, then, IMHO, there is a serious problem with the given system....especially since if my site is NOT about the Letter Q I can freely link to it.

Or am I reading this wrong?

there's a difference between linking to site Q and linking via an affiliate link to site Q. the first is appreciated, the second is only allowed in signatures.

links to sites that you own are not affiliate links.

I tried to find my answer in this thread (12 pages so far) But anyway, just received this warning
I kinda understand this infraction but how many introductions can a person participate in ..per day etc..
Thing is I like welcoming newcomers and reading about people in the introductions..My intentions when I post in introduction is "being friendly" not trying to bring up post counts?
Also I tried to find the Mod/Admin that issued the warning to voice my concerns too (I have a concern that I rather not discuss in a thread) but couldn't!
Anyway is there a limit of posting that I can do in a day or should I just avoid that forum?

You did like 20 cut and pastes (which were deleted).

    Your infractions were just warnings.

Yes I admit I do have a signature welcome post but when you compare my postings to others like
I think mine is more friendly..Anyway back to my concern. is there a limit?

Make your welcomes personalised and for people you genuinely are welcoming. In general all new members are welcomed with open arms, however I only post when a) I actually get time to hang out there; b) the new member tells me something that connects with me (same specific interests, home town, etc).
Lets see what we can arrange...

Sorry if this question is too simple, but how do I know whether I have been given an Infractions or not? Will I be able to see all the infractions I've got?
