is hostgator scammer?

I purchased their hosting service (for 3 months) 1.5 weeks ago. I have not added anything in my hosting direcotry. 3 days ago, i tried to login to my control panel. I failed to do that. then I checked my default page, i was told that my account was suspended. I contacted their staff via live talk. They told me I should contact their sales staff as they are supporting stuff. I wrote to sales staff right away. now 3 days have gone, I still have not got any response from their sales to explain why my accout was suspended. This is a horrible service. I still feel lucky that I have only subscribed with them only for 3 months (I want to test their service before i make a longer subscription).

I will write to them another email. See if they will reply me or not.

 

Can't you try the live chat? I doubt they are "scammers".

 

I have tried to contact live chat, they told me they could not do anything and I must contacted sales. Then I wrote to sales 3 days before. No response so far.

 

What package you had with them ? Send another ticket

 

baby package. I subscribed with them for 3 months for continous renewal. I have resent them an email to their sales email account. or should i go to their web to raise a ticket?

 

there affilate system is a scam, there plans look like they are over-selling(alot)

 

yeah they are defiantely overselling their servers and i suspect that is where the problem stems from. They likely cant fit you in but still took your money. I think it really sucks when unscrupulous hosts like this operate.

Well I don't think that they are scammer, I have read good words about them on many hosting review websites like WHT etc. Keep trying contacting their support, I am sure they will reply.

 

I remember the same thing had happened with me as well when I opened my first account with them. The reason they told me that "I live in India and I need to give them a call for verifying the order. This is to reduce the fraud."
If you are not from USA, it may be the case with you as well, though I am not sure.

 

I don't know but ive had nothing but good experiences with them and ive used their live chat.

Umm,I think so.Give them a call and verify your account.Try Skype,you can call them without a penny..

 

Don't think they're scammers, but their support blows the big chunks. They will keep sending you to someone else, and you will have to keep explaining your problems over and over. Then they will "get back to you" a day later, sometimes longer, and you'll have to explain it to them all over again. HostGator has some atrocious support service. Try Ixwebhosting. I have three sites with them, and they've been very good.

 

In fact, I am mainly using other hosting service for my sites. Becuase I heard of some good comments on hostgator, I decide to have a try to see if I need to use their service in the future. That was why I subscribed with them on a basis of 3 months for a test. Now according to this experience, i think i will not use their service although I may throw away my money for this try.

 

Not scammers but not worth doing business with. They seem to activate your account instantly only to suspend you for verification. They did the same thing to me so I closed my account and never looked back. Who wants their visitors to get a "Suspended" page?

Worst idea in hosting history ever.

They may not be the most pleasant people to work with, but by no means scammers.

 

they are not scam. i have been using them for more than six months and their affiliate system too. The hosting is great and are paying the affiliates, at least me.

 

They are not scammers. I have used them for 2 years now i have bought dedicated servers and resellers and never had a problem. If i do have a problem i always send them a support ticket and it usually gets answered within 24 hours. I don't know why yours is taking so long maybe its a bigger situation. Its best that you call them.

See, that's the problem. "Usually within 24 hours". But the problem is, they usually take the FULL 24 hours. And there's not even a guarantee the guy who finally responds will know who you are and ask you, once more, what it is you need. I stand by my assertions about them: ATROCIOUS customer (but in particular, tech) support.

 

I use a hostgator shared account for 3 of my sites, absolutely no problems here. In fact, they are the best host I have ever used.

Their support has always been quick for me, within minutes any question is answered..
