using a general domain, then subdomains for each product is a good idea. works well for review sites

I assume that a cloaked landing page is just an I frame of the offer.

no frames necessary. That's an old school technique. Now a days you can used ip based header redirection.

With a cloaked page you are showing the landing page to a search engine based on a database of known ip addresses. You then header redirect a regular user straight to your product. THis way your pages rank well in the search engines, but you have a higher epc because your user doesn't have to click anything to get to the product page.

I'm not advertising DJK, I was just using the URL's as examples of my problem :)

Don't the search engines do a good job at crawling from a bunch of different methods?

I've done redirection based on referrer, browser, etc. and I know that never works 100% of the time - is there a 'list' of these ip's out there somewhere?

That seems like it'd be much easier lol ;)

That's exactly what I've been thinking of trying. Does cloaking still work?

Wow, I missed a lot while I was in school. So, the recap is basically mailing lists and cloaked landing pages?

That's a good question some people are posing- where do we find this list of known IP's for AdWords, Yahoo, etc. bots that dictate quality?

That's why ip based cloaking is the only way to go. User agents can be spoofed easily (there is a firefox plugin to do just that). I've personally got an ip database of nearly 4000 search engine ip's.

I hear ya there. So are you saying create a landing page with decent content to shoot the IP matches to, while directly redirecting the 'scrubbed' users straight to the merchant pitch page?

That way the search engines get something to index, but you don't have to worry about building a quality landing page to sell since you just redirect to the merchant with your aff info?

Excellent! I've got Kloakit but haven't used it in 2 years. I'll dust it off. Use backlinks from blogs and myspace to get indexed? Does that work for cloaked sites?

I checked out your product, and it seems pretty slick. I'm referring to the Simplified SEC, of course. Too bad you guys don't offer a demo. :D I would totally demo that up, and I'd be hooked cause I'd probably be making money!

    Perhaps in the future.

    I'm frustrated.

I've found what looks to be a good niche. I'm getting some targeted traffic, but I just can't get my first sale. I just want to see one of those Clickbank bars get longer then all the others...just to give me a little confidence :)

I know what you mean. Mine is stuck at $35 today and just REFUSES to go any higher. :)

I need it to eat spinach or something and grow up to be $200 today.

    Haha.
