Despite the popular acceptance of Blogging, Is there any benefit to Blogging to promote your website and gain pr.
PR as in pagerank, probably not. But it is helpful in promoting your main site. Extra backlinks, more on topic content, etc. are always good.
I’m trying to promote the site I guess with a use of a back link to the site. I’m hoping that it will one day led into an archive of information for my customers.
not to play devils advocate! but how come it does not improve pr. i would think a backlink is a backlink( what diff does a blog backlink commpared to a websight backlink)
Once you get a blog, you have to attract PR to it before it can pass through the links into the site you are promoting. There is no difference between a blog and just another site... other than a blog is free and on a different ip address to your main site.
well, if you had a high PR blog to begin with it would make a difference. But a new blog with a pr of zero isn't going to help much. But that's not really the point. Blogging opens you up to a huge community of promotional opportunity. From listings at syndic8.com, to traffic systems like blogexplosion. It's easy to get back links to blogs when you provide useful informaiton. Even with a couple of dozen visitors a day, that's a couple of dozen that you wouldn't already have.
That i guess is the ? 1 viset to the site is better than 0 but, what sort of traffic to the blog is required to boost pr. 100+ 1000+ hits a day?
FWIW, two blogs I run (including one that was updated yesterday for the first time since February) both have PR of 5. People are more willing to link to a blog, simply because that's what bloggers do - they link to other (interesting) sites, be it in a blog roll or within an entry.

I just had listened telephone interview with one of the how they say famous blogger..He says that blog is very good to promote your website, especially he talks about worpress, cause how he says he is guru about it.. The main factor which he points out that he is using wordpress blog on his domain name with the site, which would be if I talk accurately on the sob domain www.yoursite/blog.com He says that by doing it he gains fast indexind and in the same time he trains search engines crawlers to craw his blog constantly. Also when he writes a post he links it to his main website, you gonna believe me or not he says that he absorbed that it boosted his PR. In the end how I remember he says that search engines love blog because of its pure code and text which you, I hope write constantly..
search engines likes blogs and they are indexed more frequently than normal pages, so your site can make pr increase by having a blog with some regular postings
You really have no clue! Instead of trying to BS everyone, do some reading, get honest with yourself, apply some sh1t and then let us know what works for you. You dont even know what the hell a sub domain is... BTW PR means nothing, you could be getting a million vistors to your site a month and have a pr of 2 or be getting 100 uniques per month and have a PR of 5, doesnt matter its a waste of time and energy,,,,,,,
