Well I just flew back from my wonderful yet exhausting holiday about 24 hours ago, and considering my lack of sleep due to the red eye flight I got home, I decided to wait about 24 hours before jumping back on the computer, a good 14 hours of it was spent sleeping, the other 20 was made up of catching up with family and friends.

But as promised, I'm back and willing to answer any question people might have - and well there is a long list for me to get on top of, so here goes.

You're right the weekly figure I originally mentioned "is no longer" - IT HAS GONE UP! I'm now making $1000+/week!

My earnings have never been based on cheating the system, just providing good quality, interesting content, combined with a bit of promotion and well position advertising. That simple. The new image policy didn't effect my earnings at all because I never had misleading images next to my ads. And like I said earlier you can read about my comments on what happened in the previous posts of this thread, and other threads that I posted in when the new policy came out.

    Yes it is ;).

I'm actually a big believer in "action" being the first step. Honestly people have millions and millions of ideas all the time, and many of the ideas turn into planning, but none of that means anything if you don't take the first actions. Some might say that writing down a few notes and plans is "action" but I jot down notes all the time about great ideas amongst other things, and the funny thing is when I go back and look through my books of notes so often these "great ideas" never eventuated. Why? probably because all I really did was write about them rather than act on them.

For me action is was seals the deal - your investment of energy into these first actions is what creates the commitment to the project. I don't know where I heard the quote, but "someday is a road to nowhere, and today is all you have." So the best way to see the beginnings of your dreams is taking action towards achieving them, and you are many times more likely to follow through if you take action as quickly as possible if not NOW.

That is my two cents on dreams becoming reality.

Thank you, and I think too think that being able to communicate well is a very important aspect of life, not just making money or success with AdSense.

    You're very welcome.

I would say quite a significant difference! There a multitude of things that affect your rankings in search engines, but H1 and H2 tags are definitely up there on the scale of importance. When it comes to competing on the internet I would personally say that you can't really afford not to be utilizing you H1 and H2 tags. So my recommendation would be to go back and ad them - it shouldn't be a HUGE issue, but it might make a HUGE difference.

I find when launching a site I will use many means of building backlinks, whether it be directories submissions, article submissions etc. That said I too like to contact site owners with relevant sites to offer link exchanges or ask for backlinks and I have found this to be quite useful and successful!

But at the end of the day if you really want to build backlinks building quality is what matters, because if you have quality content people will link to you. The perfect example of this is this very thread. If you do a search on Google, Yahoo and MSN for just how many inbound links this thread I think you will be surprised to find that people all over the net have linked to it for no other reason than they found it useful and wanted to share it with their site's visitors.

Well I look forward to reading your post, but I'd suggest that there is a little more than just building it to gain success. It requires building it, then improving it, then promoting it, then continually improving it in combination with promoting it.

Come on dude.. if you could have been bothered to even make it to the 2nd page you would have found out. If you want similar success to Burta the first thing you'll have to do is realise you're going to have to "be bothered" (read: work hard)..

For all those people wanting the "magic formula" - this is it. It's not a question of how many sites one has, or whether or not you have images next to your ads.. You need to get off your arse (or ass in the US) and just get something out there! :)

I have a couple of sites, but the large percentage of my earnings comes from two or three of the major ones. That said I really think you'd be best served reading the whole of this thread - there is good information all the way through it.

LOL yeah I sometimes have a bad habit of rambling. I can talk forever about absolutely nothing - some call it a gift - others call it a waste of their precious time.

Yeah I'm a very proud Brissy boy indeed!

Thanks for sharing your experience of making money and provide tips for both adsense and SEO.

    I have some questions -

Are all of your site focus on same niche?
Are you place your articles at top domain or place it in a subdirectory?

    Thanks.

Well sort of - They are in a similar industry, but not necessarily the same topic. Like I mentioned in my original post I sort of started with what I knew then move into topics that were similar and sort of the same industry. If that make sense, but my biggest earnings are from the topic that I started with and that I know the most about and that I can create the best content for.

    Hey, thanks for quick reply.

I also develop a article/essay site several months ago. But my Page CTR is very low. Today it is 1.23% only one click on ad :( . But my sites Page eCPM is comperatively high than my other websites (today I get $2.03 for 1 click) :). So there is a prospect of my site. But may be my ad placement is wrong. Or may be I need to show more patience.

Here I attached ad placement image of my article site.

    So what do you think?
And what is Page CTR of your site? Is it above 5%? My site's average Page CTR is 4.12%

If you want to get a good CTR, use only 1 ad block. And try not to have too many links on a single page to confuse your visitors. Ultimately it is about blending, making sure that you ads do not look like ads. It's not to bluff your visitors into clicking them but letting them know these are not lousy advertisements that they might be used to but useful links related to your content.

It also helps to write your content in a way that promotes your advertisement. For example, writing about how good Widget A is will help people to click on ads selling Widget A.

I hope it helps. By the way, stick to just 1 336x280 if you are dealing with an information rich site. And make sure that is it above the fold.

Burta probably has his own opinion, but if this were my site, I would move the column with the skyscraper to the left side of the page and move the skyscraper up a bit. Also, I would only use one 336 and put it in the middle of the body your article.
