I love how people dismiss PR as being worth anything, but will still pay for links based upon PR. Please.... kinda like the fat chick vs. the Moped....
lmao.... i was thinking the same thing I especially enjoy the title as if its that easy for someone to reach 6 without having to do some link purchases, and sometimes doesnt yield results that one would have hoped for. But dont give up hope.... just keep pluggin away and you will someday reach your goal. thx malcolm
LMAO too. Everyone does and no exception. I'll be surprised if there is one. Aviva is worth submitting though its PR6 right now its gonna go back or much higher in the next update.
I've one example, I remember, When i submitted one of my client's site in Aviva, Later that site was rejected because it was linking one adult dating site from footer. Jeff issued full refund. That itself proves, how conscious they are about content and quality of directory. Forget traffic, are you submitting to directories for only PR And return traffic? When you're submitting to Aviva, you're submitting to a quality directory and probably one of the best web directory.
Very well said montux... sometimes we ALL forget about the real reasons we should be submitting our sites to "quality" versus "quantity" thx malcolm.
Hmm... seems most of you became blind in front of Aviva and Alive when in fact they are only some big link machines. Yes, i first disallowed when somebody here on DP said that Alive and Aviva are link machines, but now when I get a more deep analysis on their techniques, I can say i subscribe to what that user said... There are more powerful dirs like botw.org for example or searchmonster.org whose their purpose isn't only to act as a link sellig marketplace... Guys, think twice when considering Aviva and Alive as the best web directories on the internet coz`... they are not. They get good traffic, but that's not all when speaking about quality. I totally subscribe to the fact PR isn't relevant for the quality of a page, that's more than true. All the best,
@earticles for a scamming con, you sure do have a big one. oh, let me guess, you'll now say you only own 1 directory. yea, that very directory that is located in the network that scammed all those paypal submissions. right.
Oh guys, for how long will you bother me with that...? I already said somewhere here on DP... we're link partners and I only own freewebdirectory. Anyway, I'm sorry if my opinion about aviva get dissatisfaction to you but i think I get the right to not agree with you.
You have every right to disagree, but when you are affiliated with a network of scammers, what exactly would or could you possibly know about 'quality' good one. only not.
I only know the quality of my business here, disregarding what kind of network I am affiliated with. Moreover, I'm gonna investigate this subject. Also, hope this is the last message bothering me about that famous network I really don't have too much knowledge about while it's out of my daily interest here. Thank you.
To me, it's PR and traffic. How the site looks doesn't affect to my site in terms of profit and benefit. PR is benefit. Traffic is potential profit. When I think of traffic, I would try to find out what kind of traffic a web directory gets. I guess then I would like to know where they get traffic or how they promote though the method they use to promote their directory doesn't always mean they get traffic with that method.
No we are not earticles. Your right its a just another popular brand name. The thing is that both of the individual owners shared the success of their directories with the population of the webmasters here. Both of them have until now, are trying to make the directory market continue to flourish. Their contribution to the development is never ending. They have given employment to the unemployed. They have set standards to other owners some path to success. Worldwide, they have helped the directory market flourish and popular otherwise you and I won't be here posting in this thread. These are just some that I can think of right now but I'm sure there are many more. While the other big directory owners profits from their projects the contribution is minimal or non at all. Hence that makes them unknown and unpopular. They need to be active and offer some incentives. I have seen some familiar owners slowly trying to participate more and be active. Yvonne from WSI and ADirecttoZ has been slowly getting in the pace. They should try it too. The only thing that does not work for me is while big directory owners are profiting and boasting that they earn sufficient amounts they could not find time to donate to charities. I can't blame some of them as they have already made a lot of contribution to the directory market, but other owners seem to announce how much they make and not even remembers to throw some change to charities. Or i just don't know like I do. My directory haven't earn that potential yet but whatever I gain I set some aside for charity. Last month I gave a couple of $100 to 2 charities of my choice. One in the UK and 1 in my home country. Thats the maximum I've earned and I gave it away since its not my prime source of living. Give and you Shall Receive.... Aviva nad Alive have given such quantity of contribution and they deserve that respect in this community. I would like to see the big directories you mentioned to be here too and offer something nice to earn the communities respect. As for me, I am just a small potato in comparison but I do whatever in my own capacity to be there too. My home country is still in development and not all public schools have websites. If my deal goes through everyone would see some .edu links for my site. And I am planning to run a special in the future whereas they won't pay me instead they will pay the charity of my choice directly. I will start with my favorite 1 in the UK which is Bolton Hospice. Thanks
That was quite emotional poptalk--I must say But in the process you have put the point straight that honesty, vision and integrity is the only way to succed. Yes it is give and take -everywhere, but often you come accross somebody who is more giving than others and thats life. Aviva and Alive have not come where they are now without sweat. I believe huge amount of efforts have been put into their succes much like DP. And why only talk about Aviva? Even DP lost on last PR update. As you might see--I joined DP in December. At that time DP was PR8 with over 11K backlinks. If you check now---it is PR7 with 6K backlinks. It happens to all--no worries--life goes on. But they way these entities have endured the online journey---they are the stadard in their respective fields and these small things won't do any harm to their reputation --they have too much of it and too many loyalists.
To be 100% honest, I am much more inclined to submit sites to Aviva now than quite a few months back. Jeff is doing a great job with his directories and especially with Aviva and I much prefer his current backlink tactics compared to when it was first launched. PR is useless and this comes from the owner of 2 PR6 directories
