When to put AdSense on my blog

A few days ago I started a blog and was submitting the link to various directories and the stories to places like reddit, digg, etc. Now, I was bringing in about 30 hits a day which I didn't mind because I knew I was just starting out. Then, I wrote one article and apparently it's a HUGE hit. I'm completely new to blogging and I'm not sure how common of a thing this is but it's coming at me very fast. Today I've brought in about 6,000 hits and my blog is listed on the main page of WordPress.com as fastest growing. I read that you want to try and have a stable amount of unique hits (I believe someone said 500) before putting AdSense on your blog but what do I do in my case? My blog is only a few days old and I already pulled in 6,000 unique hits today and it's not going to stop there.

    Thanks, DP!

standupcomedy [d0t] wordpress [d0t] com -- for those who were wondering. It's the first article (Dane Cook).

Congrajulations, but don't get too excited, as you said just started blogging, try to buildup more readers and get good traffic in regular times and then implement adsense, as your blog in just birth, don't get your visitors bypass for some pennies.. make them cameback visitors with quality and informative posts.. I hope soon you'll get organis results and increase in traffic as well..

Its really up to you when you put it on but with that many hits it would be a good idea soonish :)

I agree with Kel. Better to take advantage (not always the case!) of the huge traffic burst now.

Okay, I'll post a few more articles and gauge how my visitor's turn out. I also forgot to mention that it's on the top 10 of Reddit.com. I'm really excited.

    Thanks, DP!

EDIT: Apparently, I can't edit my posts (I'm assuming because I'm a new member?) so for those who were wondering (katm), it was an article on Dane Cook. And I edited my first post to include the link. Not sure if I'm allowed to do this but just ask I'll get rid of it.

I started a new blog also last week. Already today I had 12,000+ visits and over 27,000 page views. Yet ValuClick rejected my application. Does anyone know of an affiliate ad network that accepts Blogspot blogs?
