    Hello Digitalpoint!

    I need help on some monitization of my site.. i have a few sites, personal, portfolio..experiment and so on.. the one i need help with is:

    http://www.mydentify.com

    im getting about 10k visitors a day over 300k thusfar for 07 but my adsense is literally less than a dollar a day. ( i normally dont like giving out my site statistics but i think i need to give perspective here)

    some days im lucky and make a 2-3$ but mostly very small amounts like some change here and there.

    my other sites with much less traffic seem to be doing better with adsense,..but they are ofcourse niche...hmm

    I do not want to clutter my site with ad's and i am wondering if ads at all might ruin it for me. how can i increase my CTR without destroying a site ive long worked hard at creating?

    ive been with adsense for about a year now and dp boards comsume much of my life,..so ive been learnign so much here and know many tips and tricks...but im really stuck on this one... >.<

    Thanks,
    -Tim

    How do you get your traffic? I see that you use image ads. Have you tried using text ads? As it is a directory, i don't thing you users stay in the site that long.

    why no link unit on your home page? how many unique vists do you get per day? The fact that your google ads appear on the link pages could be tough. People are going to section with highly target sites and will most likley click one of those b4 on an ad...try adding a link or ad unit to your home page

    Just a thought, but i think it would be tough to run a directory site with site links to get people to click on ad links as well

    i agree. i honestly want to stay away from link ads because i dont want that to interfere with users paying to submit their link (their link and google link competition). thats unfair competition and kind of sleazy on my part so i dont want to do link ads...i think im suck on this one...

    im getitng about ~3k uniques a day and ~10k pageviews a day.

    i get my traffic by i honestly dont know anymore..im not really promoting it lol so i guess search engines and such, also being included on other people sites. im paying 0$ for traffic.

    3k uniques a day for a PR4 directory, are you getting auto hits or something?

    I just submitted a site (but then cancelled). Trust me - adsense is not going to distract webmasters looking to submit their site.

    ps - you should put 3.99/year by the option. The way it reads now implies that it is 3.99 for a permanent regular link.

    Funny...just a week ago you were posting about how happy you were with the success of the site and that the last 20 days had been great...you'd just earned $253.95.

    What happened??

    Now you seem so negative about the earnings!

    Try changing the title tags on your internal pages.
    i.e. Remove: MyDentify Business Directory -

    The googler reads the title among other things when deciding what ads to display. It just does not know what a {MyDentify} keyword means. Your adsence ads will be more related to topic if you do this.

    It worked for me. For months google thought my website was about automobiles.

    You should also ad section tags.
    <!-- google_ad_section_start-->
    <!-- google_ad_section_end-->

    I'll take a free link from your site for this advice. ;)

    If you used to be making more with the same amount of clicks, then it sounds like you've been smartpriced.

    Or maybe the adsense bot got smarter. They really seemed to have gotten smarter over the past weeks. Ads are getting more and more targetted. Perhaps they have been taking into consideration meta tags and such.

    Umm... adsense bot getting smarter? He's got an ad for the oakland raiders on a business directory... I don't think that's it.

    Your ads aren't targeted because the categories you've set up in your directory aren't targeted.

    Think about it.. I clicked on Sports/Recreation hoping to find some sporting links, yet half of what came up was hotel and travel links... Throw these in a different category, fix up all your title/META tags (following basic on-page SEO principles) and you're well on your way.. :)

    Well, its a directory site. You can't expect big earnings. Are you sure you made $250 odd in 20 days from this site? I thought directories barely earned anything.
