I want to try site-sift scirpt one time, need help

I want to try site-sift scirpt for one site, any suggestion?
Do i have to add category manually or is there any category dump (I can revise later)?

site-sift is not as popular as phpld, why?

I like site-sift, may not be as complex as phpld, but it's good

 

site-sift and phpld are both good scripts although we use phpld

phpld is more popular in our opinion as it has probably a bigger user base and is marketed year round

 

I think site-sift listings was really made for promotion of www.site-sift.com, while phpld is marketed as a script/software to be sold.

Both are good scripts.

 

Even though phpld is marketed more agressively than site-sift, i think that site-sift has all the needed features and easier for a lot of starters to deal with.

After the recent upgrade it has got all the power.

If more template choices can be made available - or template mods, this can turn in to a really good script.
