What could the consequences if earth's magnetic field becomes too week. Would this be a bigger problem than that of global warming ? Will scientists be able to fix these monsters within 20 years?
Will we be able to survive? The harmful radiation from sun gets diverted because of earths magnetic field.
Really? Any link to a reliable source? 7% in 150 years doesn't sound so extremely bad, but I'm no expert in this area.
Let me die before global warming, earth electromagnetic field decay, panda extinction and marijuana disparition occur...please Unless we still can have beers around...
Yeah, it's like the Ozone hole...who cares??...we have solar lotion, sunglasses... And the day we don't have any Panda for BBQ, we'll still have "chicken" at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=242076
The electromagnetic field is protecting life by diverting cosmic rays. A significant percentage of plants will die in case earth electromagnetic field becomes weeker
I wonder if this has something to do with the magnetic poles switching. I've heard and read that it was about time for that to happen. This was used as a possible explaination for the crazy weather too. I personally believe that humanity has to spread out to a few more planets if we really want to guarantee our survival. Although, I don't think nature will ever cause a complete extinction. Human nature might, but there will almost always be enough survivors to rebuild.
