hi, i registered a domain name (.com.my) through web hosting company. Something happen, and the guy who own the web hosting company refuse to contact with me and give me the control of web hosting account. Is there any way for me to get the domain name back, so that i can register for another web hosting company? Thanks.
Why does the host in question refuse to contact you? More specifics please, even those that might make one blush.
Is the domain name in question, registered in your name as Registrant or Owner ? If so, you could find where the domain name registrar is and ask for the domain name to be given to you. If it is registered in the name of your web host, the only person is to try to appeal or pay the ransom to get the domain name back. I hate how some web host try to manipulate you by offering you a free domain name and then trapping you to host with them forever.
Send them a cease and desist letter. Dave Zan above may add some words on that. Make sure they get it. If not, you may consider a UDRP procedure!
No doubt there's a dispute. What I'm wondering is what possibly caused it. After all, we're only seeing one side of it. One thing I've learned about this is things aren't always completely what they seem. Since I just noticed it's a .com.my domain name being referred to, only thing I can possibly suggest is check the .my registry's policies on disputes like this.
Domain name registrars are not legally allowed to withhold domain names due to non-related disputes. Go to Icann and file a complaint with them.
