Is it wrong to name your child 'Homer'?

Is it wrong to name your son after simpsons star Homer?

I wouldn't name my child Homer, let's just say that.

My neighbor is named Homer. He's an idiot and I'm pretty sure having the name has helped that in some way. I could never name my child Homer lol.

I dont think there is something wrong calling him Homer. His classmates might tease him with d'oh!

I wouldn't name him Homer, I would name him something like Henry and have his nickname be Homer.

 

Homer was the great greek scribe who wrote the Illiad, specifically the Odyssey one of the greatest stories in history. Why not name him Homer?!

That was what I was thinking. You have to remember that in 20 years time, what will people remember most, the cartoon, or the Greek poet?
