No, you need to check your sources. Trust me on this. PageRank is a function of links, nothing more, nothing less. If you think you know of a source indicating otherwise, feel free to inform the rest of us. Try reading the white paper published at Stanford. Google it* and you should find plenty of copies, or perhaps someone here has a link. If you can't find it let me know and I will find it for you. It is a fairly straightforward formula, and the only factor it takes into account is links. -Michael The usage of the phrase "Google it" is by my own choice, and in no way signifies an endorsement by the Google corporation in using their name synonymously with "search for". Thank you.
Links as they age counts more as a vote for a site. Besides links related to the content of the site also adds value to the vote.
No, you are wrong. Not for PageRank they don't. If you don't know the difference between Google rankings and Google PageRank, then you need to change your user id. This is basic stuff here. This reminds me of a recent thread at SEOR. -Michael
Where on earth Google ranking came in...!!! you can't be serious with your knowledge. Thanks for your suggestions btw.
Ok, pay attention. The comments you made: Both of those comments are true if you are talking about how well a site ranks in Google for a particular keyword, but both are false if you are talking about Google PageRank. Therefore, you are confusing the two with each other. That's where it came in. -Michael
Look at this way! Suppose you have a PR3 site linking to you. But with age (or seo whatever as time passes by) this PR3 linking page is now PR5/PR6, now obviously your PR will also increase as now a higher PR site is linking to you. So, as more of linking site PR increases, you are at the end of benefiting as well. Besides only if the linking site is related to your site's content, then only the voting will count towards your site. I know my statements may have been more counted towards the ranking algo but this is what I had in mind while posting.
That has nothing to do with what you said. You were saying that links will pass more PageRank as they age. A link has just as much chance of decreasing in value as increasing based on your description there. No. PageRank has nothing to do with content. Why is it you think it is better to argue incorrect facts than admit that you are wrong? -Michael
