Please appraise my domain, http://www.Lucidly.com. I started it a few months ago and ended up getting a page rank 5 without even trying. It launched november 14th I think. I got the page rank 5 after the most recent update.

To verify that it is a real page rank go here: http://seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html and type in: "www.lucidly.com".

Anyways, if you appraise this I would be happy to give you tips on how I got a page rank 5 without spending more than a few dollars (under $100 for sure). It was a total accident too, so now that I know what works I can even perfect my tips.

    Pros:
    -one word
    -TLD (.com)
    -PR 5
-relates to the market (dreams > lucid dreams > lucidly dreaming > lucidly)
    -about 4 years old
    -alexa ranking of 104,000
    -roughly 5000-8000 hits per day

    Cons:
-not generic enough to fit too many non-niche markets
-only 100 uniques per day (i bet you're surprised considering the amount of hits)
    -point out some more

It would be nice if you could do both, domain with and without the site. A good portion of the content is from article directories and similar freeshare sources, but a lot of it is completely original content written by me. The forums (500 some posts) would also be completely original. Except for the jerk spammers who keep getting in there.

There is little revenue as I am still starting out, about $50 per month, from adsense and affiliate sites. I have done only free marketing on this site, and spend barely any time marketing the site (want it to grow real naturally). It also has 30 free magazine subscribers.

    In my opinion:

Domain woth about reg fee. (still the Toyota story in mind  )
Site worth 10 times NET monthly proceed.

And never forget: PR is meaningless...

The domain is only worth $10 or so? Is that REALLY true? What is the toyota story by the way?

Years ago (95-96?), a guy reg toyota.com. He tought he could get billions for it selling it to the Toyota Company. Remember at that time when everybody was hunting domains...
So he sent an email to Toyota for the domain.
They asked how much. I don't remember the price(millions of $$), and Toyota counteroffer with a $100 price.
They finally bought buyatoyota.com instead at reg price.
2 or 3 years later, they offer $25 for toyota.com, which the guy sold for since toyota.com was useless for everybody except toyota itself.

If tomorrow I need lucidly.com really bad and I see it is taken. I'll go for
    mylucidly.com
    lucidlyonline.com
    ilucidly.com
    elucidly.com
    golucidly.com
    bestlucidly.com
    etc...
    etc...
    etc...
    .

So are you saying my lucidly.com is like toyota.com? It has good value for me, but not too much value for anyone else?

    Basicaly, yes.
If I own toyota.com today, it couldn't be a nice site.
Or a MFA kind of stuff for lost traffic or something with no relation with Toyota (rights).
And in some countries, a common sense right to a domain make it worthless.

Gotchya, so if I ever sell the domain it would be a MUST to sell it with the site and associated rights, correct? Well, a MUST if I want to get the maximum purchase price.

I remember your user name, you'd have to remind me of our particular deal, then it would all come back to me. I just can't place the user name with the transaction/service though.

Was that $200 for the domain alone or the domain and the site?

On a side note, would you be interested in installing that mod that prevents spammers/spam bots. I believe it is called the vip mod or something. PM me if you have heard of it and would be willing to do the job (for pay of course). If not, don't worry.

    I think so.
And, something I forgot, the price will be what a buyer is ready, willing and able to pay for it also.
Imagine that Mrs. Wanda Lucidly want to make a personal website, you could get more than reg fee. Sometimes a buyer has something in mind that is not know by someone else...
