Any success with astore?

I've been integrating an astore into my homedeliverydvds.com site, but am wondering if anyone has had a decent amount of success with the astores or are they just a waste of time?

I got an Amazon certificate a few days ago, $27.50 corresponding to my Astore earnings in the last quarter.

My Astore was implemented past December for Christmas sales.

    No, not one sale.
In my opinion astores are about worthless.

I have seen that success with Amazon is all about your niche.

After trying for long time at generic sites, I began to make money after introducing a celebrity site.

I have implemented both direct product links and an aStore on my site. The aStore didn't generate as many sales as I hoped, so I moved it down on the page. Now I occasionally get some sales by it, but I am thinking of removing it altogether.

Perhaps when it has more features, like better category navigation, more than 9 items to display on one page, etc., I will try it again.

Another disadvantage is that the product descriptions you enter, will not be picked up by search engines.

If you have products that are in demand, they will work, but if you tried to sell something there, expect to compete with a ton of people and expect to sell your item for rock bottom prices. If you got a wholeseller connection, then you might be able to get a nice product. However if you have generic items, expect a lot of competition. I have sold way more on Ebay and for decent prices. On Amazon, I have only sold a American Pie movie for $10 and get this, I got a $3 fee for making the transaction. Ebay is way cheaper. If you only have generic items, you cannot sell them as quick because people will try to undercut you and steal your sells. Ebay has separate bids and you can also set reserve prices after 5 positives. I think I will try to write an Ebay tutorial later on this. Will anyone be interested?

In my post above I said this.
Keep in mind that I am only talking about astores not the Amazon Affiliate Program.

Here's to hoping the aStore works for me. How important is it to integrate it into a site which gets 500 visitors a day?
