You need to get some education under your belt. Feel free to visit our site and read up on some SEO tactics and how everything works.

    Link building techniques

    and

What you should do in 2007 for SEO

Outside of that you should spend some time reading up on a couple of forums. It takes a long time to grasp some of the concepts of SEO but you will eventually get there. Another good option would be to pay for someones time. We do consulting all the time for people that need information on how SEO works and what you can do. PM me if you are interested.

Here's an answer to your second question...to build your page rank you need to get tons and tons and tons of links out there. Having links from pages that have a high page rank would help quite well.

I like doing a few keyword targetting techniques, make use of social bookmarking and post comments to blogs related to yours. I've receieve some nice "starter" traffic from these things.

    1) put meta tags in your website, is it's already not there.
    2) place your best keyword in your title,

give your url for a more targeted answer,
    thanks.

Try to submit a google sitemap. Under this account, you can see the top keywords your site ranked for. In addition, give it some time if your site is new :)

The best service i know of to find keywords is keywordcountry. They are a monthly service. They help u find the most searched keywords for your sector and the easiest ones to optimize. I will be using them soon for my huge project if i can ever get the time to start it lol

I agree with seorant, pagerank means diddley squat as i have seen tons of great pagerank sites rank way below the lowerranked sites. The secret isnt in the pagerank, its in the quality and depth of the links and the links that linkback to teh links you are linking to.

Let's assume for a second that you have a page on Hawaiian pizza (cuz I just had that ;))..make sure the term "Hawaiian Pizza" appears on your page..all you do is talk about it..without spamming of course...

Then, when you get those links, they must have an anchor text...
    <a href="http://www.yourwebsite.com">ANCHOR TEXT </a>
    Code (markup):
Replace anchor text with the keyword you want to rank for...and yourwebsite.com with your actual web address..

Next, get links from authority sites.

    And, enjoy.

    Cheers,
    - Ana

    1) Type industry related keywords into http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ (i.e. 'travel' if your site is travel related)

    2) Pick one or two keyword phrases that aren't too popular or too unpopular (somewhere in the middle of the list)

    3) Include these keyword phrases in your page title, H1 heading tag and page content

    4) Link to this page from other relevant sites using your keyword phrase

    5) Repeat for lots of other pages

The author wanted a question answered not your services.

Depending on what you know which appears to be very small(don't worry that is fine. Totally fine. We all started there) you may find this helpeful: http://www.seobook.com/archives/001936.shtml

Also Google and most other search engines rank sites based on links and Google ranks based on relevancy so if you get links from Gutiar sites to your guitar site they will probably be pretty valuable and will help you rank for the keyword in your anchor text. What is anchor text? This is anchor text - I linked to google and the anchor text was 'this is anchor text' If enough of these links point to Google from many different websites Google will start to rank for 'this is anchor text' on Google. Understand? If not post and I will try and clear up what ever I didn't clarify. good luck!

Okay let me try and explain....

    This is a link: http://www.google.com - t
Now anchor text is if I add a title to the link for example: Google it

    CODE:
    [URL="http://www.google.com"]Google[/URL]
    Code (markup):
The http://www.google.com is the link and 'google it' is the anchor text. Anchor text is the title of your link basically. Understand? Glad I could help. If you got any other questions let me know.
