The amount of money you make depends on the quality of the sites. You could probably make a million junk sites and make a lot of money but you lose a lot to overhead costs.

The fewer sites you have the less it costs to run them and the more money that stays in your pocket.

Trying to build business or sites on that mentality will guarantee failure. You can get domains for $10 or less each, and host 100's of them for less than $1000 a year easily. So claiming that there are substantial overhead costs is completely ridiculous. .info's can be registered for a few bucks. Im not saying spamming search engines with dup. content is how to make money, but to say that you can't make money by having a larger number of smaller less effort sites.

That's wrong, there's no hard and fast rules about how many sites you will need to make money with. Some people do make money with just one site, and others who run multiple sites will often find that there's one of them that's far and away more profitable than the others.

The thing is, you will probably have to experiment a little before you hit on the right topic and type of site, and the best method for you.

Webmasters are as different as the many species of the animal kingdom: some give birth to just one site at a time, and pour all their energies into making it thrive. Others spawn hundreds or thousands, but don't bother to maintain them. And there's all sorts of approaches in between, and all of them can be successful in terms of making you money. It all depends on where your skills lie, and how much you want to spread your risk as far as the ire of the search engines goes.

Everyone is looking for THE secret formula for making money with adsense: one site or multiple sites, MFA or content, this niche or that niche, one page or multiple pages. There is no single formula to success. If I told you exactly what I've done to be successful with one of my sites, you wouldn't be able to duplicate it. How do I know? Because I can't duplicate it myself.

It is important to find what you like to do. If building and "runing" a bunch of sites floats your boat, go for it. I've come to the conclusion that concentrating on a few sites makes more sense and money for me.

Yeah, 2 or 3 sites is good. I have at least that many hobbies that I can write about.

When I was talking about a lot of sites I had gotten caught up in the other posts in this thread.

well you can have a lot of sites that don't take any maintenance like proxies or mfa and then have 2 or 3 that you put effort into
