Get 31 Permanent Links

Solicitations like the one here by Aaron can be very misleading. Here is my experience.

I submitted a number of quality websites, example is www.bestdiamonds.co.uk

I then got an email saying that my submission was refused but would still be accepted if I paid $30. ...

I then PM'd Aaron to ask for feedback, he stated that only "2 out of 200" submissions get accepted as free ( which is not what the original thread suggests). ... and the bestdiamonds website did not meet his criteria as a good quality website.

My point is that its totally misleading to give the impression that you are accepting free submissions when in fact you are not. It wastes the time of DP members and creates an immense amount of frustration. Threads like this one that mislead DP members should in some way be penalised, for example you get an infraction for running up a post of no value, maybe there should be a multiple infraction, one for each DP member's time that has been weasted by misleading threads?

Dear moderator, can you please review this thread in the interest of helping to ensure this fantastic forum is not undermined by the ocassional misleading solicitation such as the thread started here.

Aaron, if you read the feedback you have from many DP members in this thread you will realise that you have created the problem. Hopefully by raising this issue you may be more inclined to accept submissions from others subsequent to my raising the problem.

Finally, there is no need to use inflamitory and offensive words in your post such as "be pissed off". I do however wish you well with your directories and hold no grudges, just accept the feedback as a learning experience.

 

... just wanted to add that Aaron Nimoks has given me a red rep point for posting my comments about his directory ... IMO he is not a good guy to do business with. So please be aware before you say something he does not like ... I wish I knew how he got so much green rep in the first place !

I read the thread, followed the instructions, and got the listings I requested with no problem.

gordano, you should have taken the time to read the thread. If you can't be bothered to read the thread and follow clearly stated instructions you could at least have the courtesy to leave Aaron alone when you don't get what you want. Just stop flaming him, you're making yourself look bad by throwing this tantrum when you're so obviously wrong.

BTW, the red rep I just gave you is for flaming. Stop it or you're bound to get more.

Yo, another "didn't read the thread offender" here!

Submit www.clicapic.com, to a couple of the directories earlier. Starting to wish I didn't bother...

 

gordano is not flaming, all unpaid submissions even those that mentioned their urls here got rejected. aaron used that argument because gordano didn't mention his url here and then he quickly closed free submissions. Annie, congrats for the listing.
Otherwise, I will have a look at the directories and probably submit for a paid listing if I like them.

 

This is the announcement by you aaron. Where did you say that free submission is not accepted?
In the reply #6, I told that I had submitted my sites to all your 31 directories. According to your submission process, free submission is still open. So, it is not clear to me why should I pay $30 for my site to be approved in your directories. Besides, I didn't want my link to be featured, regular is enough for my site. More over, it was not mentioned anywhere at the time of submission that free links would not be approved.

Like gordano, i also got the mail (i think everybody who didn't pay $30, got the mail) which made me more confused.

It will be much helpful if you describe the reason of disapproval.

 

I got disapproved too, even though I followed your instructions. But I won't complain about it, nor flame you for it. You know what you want and what kind of site you want to link to (business is business).

However, I noticed Aaron, that there are no submission guidlines on your submit pages, maybe if you had some guidelines as to the type of site that you will accept, that would have prevented the complaints you mentioned.
