Here is the proof "d16man" and Gtech, that the link Iraq - Al Qaed was fabricated.

    Report says Pentagon manipulated intel

WASHINGTON - Pentagon officials undercut the intelligence community in the run-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq by insisting in briefings to the White House that there was a clear relationship between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida, the Defense Department's inspector general said Friday.
    ..............

He cited Gimble's findings that Feith's office was, despite doubts expressed by the intelligence community, pushing conclusions that Sept. 11 hijacker Mohammed Atta had met an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague five months before the attack, and that there were "multiple areas of cooperation" between Iraq and al-Qaida, including shared pursuit of weapons of mass destruction.

"That was the argument that was used to make the sale to the American people about the need to go to war," Levin said in an interview Thursday. He said the Pentagon's work, "which was wrong, which was distorted, which was inappropriate ... is something which is highly disturbing."

Rep. Ike Skelton (news, bio, voting record), D-Mo., chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, said Friday the report "clearly shows that Doug Feith and others in that office exercised extremely poor judgment for which our nation, and our service members in particular, are paying a terrible price."
    .......

War supporters, what you gonna say about this?
    Deny it again?

Sad, Sad, and a great tragedy for America, Iraq and the world is this useless war.

Really? What part of that *proof* did you leave out, ST12? And why did you leave it out? Why cut the part towards the end out, that contradicts the first part?

Secondly, this deals with one issue, regarding atta and saddam. This is old news.

However, there is very lengthy details covering a relationship with saddam and bin laden, going back to the early 90s and reported on/covered even by the Clinton administration *before* Bush was ever in office. al qaida was in Iraq before the war started and, yes, they are still there today.

Some of those are covered here, in great detail:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1398234&postcount=31

Very dishonest title, content, and cropping out of the article that contradicts the former.

    Only the message matters

Smells like a link bait. Do you have any more proof to back up your facts except that news article?

    Amazing!

If you go back to the early 90s you might well find out that US supported the taliban, and earlier in the 80's Saddam Husein.
What you gonna say about that?

We did support that taliban vs. Russia, and we did support Saddam vs. Iran...however, it is amazing that those you support will someday turn on you and stab you in the back...Just like what happened to Israel shortly after it was formed...all the nations that surround it tried to conquer it after it was set up after WW2, but Israel in turned beat them all...I, along with the others that think this is a link bait, would like to see more, can you produce it? I assume not...

Don't get too upset mate, you'll make me start crying. :(

Bush is going to ruin the world before he leaves office. That much is a fact and that is why I am so angry with the BS we are being fed at the moment by your hero.

Bush has done so much damage so far, when Iran starts you can add even more to it.

These crazy neocons are lying to us all the time to further their gain pizzaman.

People like GTechs son d16man fail to see it, they simply merrily go about their own lives trying to defend the BS.

By the time people like them wake up it's going to be too late. It's almost already too late.
An attack on Iran will be the final straw, it is what the neocons want and it will happen before Bush leaves office in November 2k8.

That's nice, but isn't this thread about the administration cooking the books. In fact, the corrections in the story show that the report makes no such claim; and that Levin thinks the books were cooked and made an alternative assessment to the official findings.

No, I didnt. I'm simply making the point that the OP's whole point is flawed - in the sense that no official report makes the statement that he calls "proof" - it came a alternative assessment by a anti-war democrat in 2004. Just curious if the OP is going to come back and correct his claim or not.

It's no game of chicken. It is real, it is going to happen and the shit will really hit the fan when it happens.

Iran is around 10 years away from developing any kind of nuke, that is far too long for "The Decider" G.W.Bush.
    He will need another "in."
It will either be a major false flag oppo like 9/11 OR pinning all the trouble in Iraq on Iran.

The false flag oppo will be too difficult to set up in time, my opinion is they (Bush and his crazy gang) will try and nail Iran for something tied in with Iraq.

"The Decider" will steam right in there against all public opinion, logic, against 4 ex Generals advising him against it and just do it anyway. He does not care what anyone else thinks, he's on a mission to fuck up the Middle East and there is nothing at all that will stop him.

Dangerous times are coming. Very dangerous times.

it is really amazing that although we know that there was huge mistakes made in gathering and analyzing the intelligence at the time and the sensitivity of the situation that we are in why are so many people are more interested in defending their point of view rather than finding out how these mistakes were made and making sure that it is not happening now.

    He won't. It's a funny characteristic of the hand-wringers.

They're like Chris Chelios: Skate in, throw a cheap shot, and slink away in the melee - no danger of getting popped in the lip that way.

We've seen it all too often from AGS, PizzaBoy and their ilk. Lots of fuss, lots of whining, but no solutions or action.

It's easy to criticize from that environmentally-friendly Ikea chair.
