You're wrong, man made gods, and the atmopshere we inhabit makes weather ....

Plenty of people could be said to stand against "Gods" will, me included.

[Some of the lessons learnt from Quran that apply to our general living]

    1. Respect and honour all human beings irrespective of their religion, colour, race, sex, language, status, property, birth, profession/job and so on

And surely We have honored the children of Adam, and We carry them in the land and the sea, and We have given them of the good things, and We have made them to excel by an appropriate excellence over most of those whom We have created.
    [17/70]

    2. Talk straight, to the point, without any ambiguity or deception

O you who believe! be careful of(your duty to) Allah and speak the right word
    [33/70]

    3. Choose best words to speak and say them in the best possible way

And say to My servants (that) they speak that which is best; surely the Shaitan sows dissensions among them; surely the Shaitan is an open enemy to man.
    [17/53]

And (remember) when We made a covenant with the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none save Allah (only), and be good to parents and to kindred and to orphans and the needy, and speak kindly to mankind; and establish worship and pay the poor-due. Then, after that, ye slid back, save a few of you, being averse.
    [2/83]

    4. Do not shout. Speak politely keeping your voice low.

And pursue the right course in your going about and lower your voice; surely the most hateful of voices is braying of the asses.
    [31/19]

    5. Always speak the truth. Shun words that are deceitful and ostentatious

That (shall be so); and whoever respects the sacred ordinances of Allah, it is better for him with his Lord; and the cattle are made lawful for you, except that which is recited to you, therefore avoid the uncleanness of the idols and avoid false words
    [22/30]

    6. Do not confound truth with falsehood

And do not mix up the truth with the falsehood, nor hide the truth while you know (it).
    [2/42]

    7. Say with your mouth what is in your heart

And that He might know the hypocrites; and it was said to them: Come, fight in Allah's way, or defend yourselves. They said: If we knew fighting, we would certainly have followed you. They were on that day much nearer to unbelief than to belief. They say with their mouths what is not in their hearts, and Allah best knows what they conceal.
    [3/167]

    8. Speak in a civilised manner in a language that is recognised by the society and is commonly used

And do not give away your property which Allah has made for you a (means of) support to the weak of understanding, and maintain them out of (the profits of) it, and clothe them and speak to them words of honest advice.
    [4/5]

    9. When you voice an opinion, be just, even if it is against a relative

    And do not approach the property of the orphan except in the best manner until he attains his maturity, and give full measure and weight with justice-- We do not impose on any soul a duty except to the extent of its ability; and when you speak, then be just though it be (against) a relative, and fulfill Allah's covenant; this He has enjoined you with that you may be mindful;
    [6/152]

    10. Do not be a bragging boaster

    And do not turn your face away from people in contempt, nor go about in the land exulting overmuch; surely Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster;
    [31/18]

    11. Do not talk, listen or do anything vain

    Who avoid vain talk;
    [23/3]

And when they hear idle talk they turn aside from it and say: We shall have our deeds and you shall have your deeds; peace be on you, we do not desire the ignorant.
    [28/55]

    12. Do not participate in any paltry. If you pass near a futile play, then pass by with dignity

And those who will not witness vanity, but when they pass near senseless play, pass by with dignity.
    [25/72]

    13. Do not verge upon any immodesty or lewdness whether surreptitious or overt

And warn with it those who fear that they shall be gathered to their Lord-- there is no guardian for them, nor any intercessor besides Him-- that they may guard (against evil).
    [6/151].

    14. If, unintentionally, any misconduct occurs by you, then correct yourself expeditiously

    Those who spend (of that which Allah hath given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loveth the good;
    [3/134].

    15. Do not be contemptuous or arrogant with people

    And do not turn your face away from people in contempt, nor go about in the land exulting overmuch; surely Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster;
    [31/18]

    16. Do not walk haughtily or with conceit

And do not go about in the land exultingly, for you cannot cut through the earth nor reach the mountains in height.
    [17/37]

    17. Be moderate in thy pace

And pursue the right course in your going about and lower your voice; surely the most hateful of voices is braying of the asses.
    [31/19]

    18. Walk with humility and sedateness

And the servants of the Beneficent Allah are they who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace.
    [25/63]

    19. Keep your gazes lowered devoid of any lecherous leers and salacious stares

Say to the believing men that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts (from illegal sex); that is purer for them; surely Allah is Aware of what they do.

And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts and do not display their ornaments except what appears thereof, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments except to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women; and let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known; and turn to Allah all of you, O believers! so that you may be successful.
    [24/30-31, 40/19].

He (Allah) knows the stealthy looks and that which the hearts conceal.
    [40/19]

    20. If you do not have complete knowledge about anything, better keep your mouth shut. You might think that speaking about something without full knowledge is a trivial matter. But it might have grave consequences

When you received it with your tongues and spoke with your mouths what you had no knowledge of, and you deemed it an easy matter while with Allah it was grievous.

And why did you not, when you heard it, say: It does not beseem us that we should talk of it; glory be to Thee! this is a great calumny?
    [24/15-16]

    21. When you hear something malicious about someone, keep a favourable view about him/her until you attain full knowledge about the matter. Consider others innocent until they are proven guilty with solid and truthful evidence

Why did not the believing men and the believing women, when you heard it, think well of their own people, and say: This is an evident falsehood?

Why did they not bring four witnesses of it? But as they have not brought witnesses they are liars before Allah.
    [24/12-13]

    22. Ascertain the truth of any news, lest you smite someone in ignorance and afterwards repent of what you did

O you who believe! if an evil-doer comes to you with a report, look carefully into it, lest you harm a people in ignorance, then be sorry for what you have done.
    [49/6]

    23. Do not follow blindly any information of which you have no direct knowledge. (Using your faculties of perception and conception) you must verify it for yourself. In the Court of your Lord, you will be held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the faculty of reasoning

And follow not that of which you have not the knowledge; surely the hearing and the sight and the heart, all of these, shall be questioned about that.
    [17/36].

    24. Never think that you have reached the final stage of knowledge and nobody knows more than yourself. Remember! Above everyone endowed with knowledge is another endowed with more knowledge

So he began with their sacks before the sack of his brother, then he brought it out from his brother's sack. Thus did We plan for the sake of Yusuf; it was not (lawful) that he should take his brother under the king's law unless Allah pleased; We raise the degrees of whomsoever We please, and above every one possessed of knowledge is the All-knowing one.
    [12/76].

Even the Prophet [p.b.u.h] was asked to keep praying, "O My sustainer! Advance me in knowledge." [20:114]

    25. The believers are but a single Brotherhood. Live like members of one family, brothers and sisters unto one another

The believers are but brethren, therefore make peace between your brethren and be careful of (your duty to) Allah that mercy may be had on you.
    [49/10].

    26. Do not make mockery of others or ridicule others

O you who believe! let not (one) people laugh at (another) people perchance they may be better than they, nor let women (laugh) at (other) women, perchance they may be better than they; and do not find fault with your own people nor call one another by nicknames; evil is a bad name after faith, and whoever does not turn, these it is that are the unjust.
    [49/11]

    27. Do not defame others

    [49/11]

    28. Do not insult others by nicknames

    [49/11]

    29. Avoid suspicion and guesswork. Suspicion and guesswork might deplete your communal energy

O ye who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a crime. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Ye abhor that (so abhor the other)! And keep your duty (to Allah). Lo! Allah is Relenting, Merciful.
    [49/12]

    30. Spy not upon one another

    [49/12]

    31. Do not backbite one another

    [49/12]

    32. When you meet each other, offer good wishes and blessings for safety. One who conveys to you a message of safety and security and also when a courteous greeting is offered to you, meet it with a greeting still more courteous or (at least) of equal courtesy

And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet with a better (greeting) than it or return it; surely Allah takes account of all things.
    [4/86]

    33. When you enter your own home or the home of somebody else, compliment the inmates

There is no blame on the blind man, nor is there blame on the lame, nor is there blame on the sick, nor on yourselves that you eat from your houses, or your fathers' houses or your mothers' houses, or your brothers' houses, or your sisters' houses, or your paternal uncles' houses, or your paternal aunts' houses, or your maternal uncles' houses, or your maternal aunts' houses, or what you possess the keys of, or your friends' (houses). It is no sin in you that you eat together or separately. So when you enter houses, greet your people with a salutation from Allah, blessed (and) goodly; thus does Allah make clear to you the communications that you may understand.
    [24/61]

    34. Do not enter houses other than your own until you have sought permission; and then greet the inmates and wish them a life of blessing, purity and pleasure

O you who believe! Do not enter houses other than your own houses until you have asked permission and saluted their inmates; this is better for you, that you may be mindful.

Because it does not serve his will. According to the Bible of course. You know, that's what this whole thing is about. Krakjoe has attacked me for what I believe in that I have learned. Again, what I have learned is all according to the Bible and what it says. So really then, Joe, you can attack the Bible all you like because it will never change my thoughts of what it really teaches. You know why? Because I will continue to study it for as long as I possible can, and also anything else that refers to it. It's a thing called perserverance and never giving up. I can't say the same for billions of others on this planet though. It seems a high percentage have just given up to find out these things. You could be one of them? After all, who are we as mere humans to know any better than any other humans?

I am not going to say I am right and you are wrong Joe. I respect your opinions about these things. I was a little annoyed at your attitude though. However, I forgive you and will put that conversation behind me. I hope you can forgive me for calling you empty headed and big mouth. I took the wrong attitude in speaking to you and it should never be this way.

How does that sound to you?

    Col :)

You obviously havent listened, I don't do pray, I believe it to be an utter waste of time.

To me it's obvious that man made god because that's all there is for me, as we have already discussed I'll put my trust and the life of those I love in the hands of a human in an instant but gods I don't do.

Colin, I don't say things I don't mean, it does make me feel sick and in my eyes it negates your opinion on sound reasoning, you can study the bible all you like my friend you wont find what you're looking for in there, it's an empty ancient book that has nothing to do with real life, real events or anything remotely real.

Well. This is the problem then. I have found what I have been looking for. I stumbled around this earth for 39 years not knowing anything of the Bible. I can tell you though I am sure glad I did because it provided answers to my many questions. I find the Bible faultless and believe me, I was looking pretty hard too!

Really then, evidence shows you do not know what I have found. Would you admit to that?

39 years is a long time, apparently though, not long enough for some; saying
"I found what I'm looking for in the Bible"
    is equally ridiculous to saying
"I found what I'm looking for in Harry Potter",
they are both fantastic works of fiction and that's it.

It says that you dont really know life at all, it says you look at it through rose coloured glasses only focusing on the things you want to look at, anything you do not understand you're happy to pass of as gods will, I'd go so far as to say you're actually wasting your life, your pouring emotion into something that just isnt there; that emotion, that effort - all of it could be better spent elsewhere, on literally anything else.

LOL....Well...if I am extremely happy doing what I am doing is this such a bad thing to you? How can I possibly wasting my life when I am getting such fullness out of it? If I am this happy then how could I possible spend my time better elsewhere? Have you any suggestions?

As far as life goes. I know life pretty well. I have seen murder, death, rape, famine, crime, anger etc.. and all of this coming from a society ruled by man all over this earth and it's only getting worse. The 7 million people I know out of this world are peaceful, willing to help others, loving, kind and refuse to steal, cheat, commit adultery or go to war. Rose coloured glasses huh? As stated before, you don't know me at all. Here's one for the books. I have no interest in any Harry Potter novel or movie.

So. Come on. Tell me how I should live my life? You are making these rash statements about me so provide some answers??

You didn't listen again, I said already, "on literally anything else".

Really, have you ever watched a life extinguish, ever watched someone actually die ?

When I was 17 some friends and I went out to celebrate exam results, we went to a nightclub, a nightclub that we went to all the time, we had fun, we didn't fight with anyone, we even put £400 behind the bar at 10 o'clock and were buying total strangers drinks, midnight came around and one of my friends started lookin real ill, we got worried and decided to call it a night, Davids mother was a nurse, we were taking him home to her.

While we waited outisde that night for a taxi it was obvious to us that something was going on with him, his pupils were fixed and dialated, some 9mm I would guess, his skin was as white as clouds, almost transparent, he said he was going inside to use the toilet, we assumed he would be sick and come back out, the taxi arrived we started shouting his name, he answered - from half way up a crane he had climed up, he said I'm coming and let go of the crane, his body turned at least 4 times before bouncing off some scaffolding planks and hit the floor less than 3 meters from my feet, I watched near on every bone in his body break, his chest went up and down once more and his eyes shut.

I watched David die, I watched his last breath and I'm telling you, he wasn't gettin ready for eternal glory, nor are the poeple around him the ones who love him, those that matter, he was gone and those around him in a world of pain becuase of it.

Twice more I have experienced death first hand, your god took them away, he decided they didn't deserve to live anymore and tore them from life, fuck your god, he's a fucking spoilt brat, who the fuck is he to destroy lives, who the fuck is he to take innocent people from thier families, he isnt.

You know why, he didn't do it, those people were in the wrong place at the wrong time, or made a bad decision and paid ultimately for it, so rather than living my live in a fairy tale and entrusting my soul to a mythical being, one that's never helped me or those I love, I'll keep my head screwed on, I'll use real practicality to make my decisions - and god, well I don't need that shit in my life, I've learnt the hard way, through heartache and pain that the only people that suffer in this life if you fuck about are those around you, the ones you love and that love you.

David died becuase someone had put rohypnol in his drink, he was delerious not through alchohol, but because some sick son of a bitch wanted to get their own way with some poor girl that night and he picked up the wrong cocktail.

I'm done with this, it's upsetting me .....

Sorry that this topic has upset you, and for what has happened to you and those you hold dear. The fact of the matter is, you have rejected religion because you were angry. That doesn't mean that everyone who believes in religion is wrong, it means we see things differently. You say our God took your friend away... its true, its sad when death happens. But everything happens for a reason. We just don't know the reason yet.

Yes. I have seen death in front of my own eyes just like you Joe. Getting angry about it never accomplished any good for me but it did lead me to ask questions about life itself. My father died last year from Melanoma cancer as well. I have seen several members of my family struck with cancer and other fatal diseases.

I am sorry you have such pain about this Joe. I never intended to upset you or anyone else on this matter. I am only trying to help those who are asking questions about life and about God. It is obvious to me that you have made your mind up about these things and I respect that too. Please don't get me wrong. I am not judging you or condemning you. Really, I am just talking to you. If you don't want me to talk to you about these things then I will accept that respectfully and just talk to others. Will you allow me to talk to others in these forums about this or will you condemn me and judge me?

You tell me how you see how this should work?

The fact that Paul isn't God says something about your post:)

    This is all about faith.
If your faith there is no God, so be it.
If your faith there is a God, so be it.
I believe someone says... my faith is for me, your faith is for you.
Can't we just get along? No matter what faith that we believes?
