Just finished blogging about this story...One of the stupider things I've heard about lately. A group of exotic dancers runs an annual event and donates part of the proceeds to a cancer charity, last year it was the BCSC. They wont take the money this time, due to pressure from "major donors". Charities have so much money nowadays that they can pick and choose donations I guess. Digg it!
They can donate to me if they want! It's stupid though - someone is trying help them out they shouldn't refuse because they have personal moral issues about it
This is absolutely ridiculous - we always need more money to invest in cancer research. Refusing their donation strikes me as pompous arrogance at best.
Definately. It's the stigma of it being associated with exotic dancers though (although they don't have a problem with raising money from a poker event). Apparently other cancer charities won't take the money either, unless it's donated anonymously.
I don't understand, what the heck is their problem??? I think the head is too judgemental. that sucks thoug
One word: stupid. The exotic dancers donating to breast cancer research doesn't infer that the breast cancer charities support exotic dancing. Absolutely stupid. I hope the charities take a rash of grief over their refusing the money.
And not to mention, their are some beautiful women in canada! I will never go to a USA strip club again!!
Well I agree, its stupid for them to refuse money, any money, but I guess they are scared that if they take this money their "Major Donors" will bring their money elsewhere.
The charity could learn a thing or 2 from the strippers. Strippers have no problem taking money from me, I mean other people
I agree. It's like they don't make any money. I would kill for the income they get I know I would dance around naked for that kind of money! Here we go, who's taking first offers!!!??? I may be a little hairy, but we can look past that, right!?
The Canadian Cancer Society is not refusing to accept a donation from the strippers. They are refusing to be the named charity for the event. There is a big difference between the two concepts.
i have a breast cancer movie on my site and youtube.com banned it after 45,000 people seen it and 5 months on thier site. go figure
