Review my site for placement please...

Ok this site is for our Battlefield 2142 clan. It was designed specifically for BF and our group not adsense. I found out about adsense a few days after starting the site. I figured I would add adsense in the hope of helping pay for our gameserver, webserver, and voice communications. So far it has been almost a month and I have made $25.

I was anticipating making around $50 a month but that may be asking a lot this early in the game. I have tried to put the ad in places that are visible but don't take over the site. I also try and update the homepage with "news" 3-4 times a week. One thing I wondered is the news is nothing more than a plugin that pulls from the News Forum. Will this work for the bots that index the homepage and decide what ads to place?

    My keywords are as follows:

    ranked server,server,ranked,computer,computer hardware,AMD,Intel,Geforce,Nvidia,ATI,hardware,ventrilo,lypha,TPE,=TPE= The Public Enemy,The Public Enemy,BF2142,Battlefield2142,Battlefield,BF2,Battlefield2,Shooters,Games,stock market,stocks,bonds,nyse,nasdaq,amex,army,airforce,navy,marines,military,m16,m4,arcade,v3arcade,arcade games,arcade games,vbulletin,forums,community,relax,vacation,travel,PS3,Xbox,XBOX360,Online Shooters,Insomnia Servers,Ventrilo,Music Reviews,CDs,CD,Rock Music,Bands

My page description is as follows:

thepublicenemy.net: A battlefield2142 clan started on the basis of fun and competition. Come join our forums and discuss battlefield, online shooters, mutiplayer games, computer hardware, computer upgrades, rock music bands and more.

I noticed lately my ad quality is low, seem very reptative and the earnings per click is dropping. I have ads on the forum and who's online but I am not to concerned about those.

I would like suggestions on the placement and the type of ad (images vs text). The site is obviously made with Vbulletin so it is more less me making a template and placing in a certain column.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Ok. first things first. Your website loads extremely slow!. Change host if you can :D . Secondly, I think you should make your google ads text only, not images. Their is a higher click thru rate with text ads than image ads. Remove the heading advertisements near the google ad. Your visitors dont need to know its an advertisements, just needs to be something that catches their eye and they click it. I would recommend you put White ad text and black description. This way, they will blend in well with your site and would even look like links ;)

I appreciate the suggestions tapalapa. I figured images would catch the eye better but I am starting to wonder if maybe text would be the way to go. Maybe a mixture? The sides text and the middle one remain an image?

Ok so I made the advertisements on the left and right columns text. I have to figure out how to remove the table that is made from the module. Gonna have to hit up the Vbulletin forums.

As far as the site load time I have noticed some problems. Not sure yet if it is VBulletin or the server. It seems to go down frequently for a few minutes or so.

Hmm... you may want to remove some of those irrelevant keywords; I mean having "stock market, stocks, bonds" probably isn't such a good idea...

I think your blending is nice, however you may want to rethink your placement. You will probably notice an increase in clicks if the ad block was moved higher up the page.
From what I can see, you have no ads near the top of the page, which is generally the prime location.

carry your 468x60 ad unit upper. and you should try and test changing vertical ad units placements.

Nice blending. The ads looks like the content but without too much trickery, which is now very important following recent steps taken by google.

I have traded stocks most of last year. I figured it is possible that I may or may not discuss stocks in the forum so maybe I could benefit from these keywords.

Tell me why in your opinion it isn't a good idea.

Are you saying I have too many or that it is good that I have a lot?

Ok so I removed some of my keywords and also added adsense links as a additional navbar. (Is that navbar ok?) It follows you around in the site. One thing I noticed about it is it only displays links based on the page name. It seems to have nothing to do with the keywords or content.

    Is that normal?
