There is usually a delay - sometimes they wait right up until they were about to issue the next payment.
Now this only google can asnwer it. But still, It might be depending on severity of the things involved.
of course, nobody knows for sure - but i think they ban as soon as they decide there is a bannable violation.. Think about it.. do you think they want someone out there making them look bad or ripping off AdWords customers any longer than they need to?
I know of several people who were banned right before payment. Adwords customers get a refund when they don't pay the publisher. I would guess a real serious violation could get immediate action - but just because you "stop" whatever it was that was against the TOS, it doesn't mean you are in the clear. For several years, I have had multiple adsense accounts for various entities and have never had any problem with payment.
Damn, is there any way to see if you're in the "ban list"? Maybe by contacting them, etc? It would be so completely pointless to have adsense still running on my sites if i knew i was going to be banned in a month.
IT always depends sometimes they kill you so fast you wont come to know what hit you and sometimes they slowly kill you by drowing you with warnings
It really depends on what you did. If you clicked on your own ads once, it is different than clicking on them many times. The last thing I would do is contact google and ask them if you are banned - it would send a huge red flag. Google isn't stupid - you might be able to get away with cheating an advertiser out of a click or two, but they are very good at catching cheaters when it comes to fraudulent clicks. If this was an image next to an ad, you might be ok if you have removed them. No way to tell what google is going to do.
Google usually bans immediately in fraud-click and MFA cases. And it's for good. However, even without warning, a sign of abnormal CTR (e.g. above 15% or below 0.1%) is the warning itself. In wrong placement, ads next to images, and ads on adult page cases, they often give a warning first, even if they ban without warning, you still have good chance to ask for account reinstate. You can just clean up your site first and drop Adsense support an email to reassure that your site now is in compliance with the TOS.
I my site over at adClustr got warned because I added a piece of code into the example pages that made the shown ad effectively just "test" (clicks & impressions don't count). Google first approved me entering it in, and then "Warned" me via email asking me to fix it. I provided proof that they already allowed it and they said OK, and nothing was ever done to my account. Therefore i think if it isn't blatant misuse then they will warn before they ban. Its really the only way to run a respectable business. Banning people right away without any notification or warning is unacceptable.
