One sunny day in 2008, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton." The Marine replied, "Sir, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here." The old man said, "Okay," and walked away. The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton". The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here." The man thanked him and again walked away.. The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton." The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mrs. Clinton. I've told you already several times that Mrs. Clinton is not the President and doesn't reside here. Don't you understand?" The old man answered, "Oh, I understand you fine, I just love hearing your answer!" The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow."
Ooooohhhh. I LOVE this joke! I got a genuine chuckle out of it. I may have to retell it to my friends. I would hate to hear that she was anywhere close to becoming president. My trust for bush is currently in the dung heap, but my trust for Hillary has been there for years.
At this stage I'm thinking of registering as a Libertarian (as the party actually has a strong following in my sate) and voting that way in an attempt to reduce government. If enough people do, then even if the Dems/Repub candidates will start drifting towards the libertarian stance. Just like they've drifted towards the socialist stance.
I think in a way that's true. But I'm beginning to think the best way is to register repub, and effect their primary choses. I think Ron Paul is fairly similiar to my line of thought...and he's a registered republican representive. Although he's more libertarian. The best thing the libertarian party can do (in my belief), is to invade the Republican party...but remain as principled as possible. The progressives have done that in the dems, and they've been highly successful. As I see it...there's the Conservatives, libertarians, and Republicans. I think our founding were based off the Conservative/libertarian axis...and that as a principled alliance could be good. I don't generally like republican leadership, but if we can filter out their leadership and bring our country back to it's original arguement (ie how much small government is needed),...I think we'd be better-off.
I didn't gay bash the old man, I admired his intelligence that he got a date with the marine so easily.
Rick: One of the basic problems with the Republican party, though, is that they keep trying to force their morals on the American people through legislature... or at least the current leadership does. As for invading the republican party, but keeping their values... I'm cautious of that idea due to the proverb "He who lies down with dogs, wakes up with flees". Samantha: The question is valid. Your snark is not needed, and generally seems like a weak attempt to invalidate the view of anyone who dislikes any democrat. How obsessed are you with phalli anyway? You seem to bring them up rather consistently. Anyway, I've watched how she worked and she's a slippery snake of a woman. I wouldn't trust her any more than the man for whom the gerrymander was named. This opinion was long in forming, and I'm afraid that I don't have exact sources I can cite based on her political activities. However a few things I can point out are that it has long been her and Bill's plan to have each of them in the white house for 8 years each and each was supporting the other's agenda. She wasn't an elected representative, and took the role of a policy making first lady way to far. And honestly, I don't believe she stayed with Bill to be faithful to him, but rather in order to further her pursuit of political power.
I saw another good Hillary joke today. It was a picture of a sign outside of a KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) joint that read, "Hillary Special: two fat thighs with small breast and a left wing." Chalk it up to that vast right-wing conspiracy.
So now you not only hate christians, jews, the military, and conservatives, but you also hate gays? man, you need some help...
Where did you get the idea that I hate gays? I always encourage you and your friends to come out of closet. P.S. Your imitation of your daddy, Gtech is quite annoying. At least he is the original half brain bigot, you are just a bad copy.
What particular concerns you (about the bold)? The green party and the libertarians have a limited voice. At one point comprimise has to be met. Pure idealism will only lead to dissapointment.
The idea that so long as a person does not directly harm another, they should be left to do as they please. Honestly I'm up in the air about the abortion thing. It really hinges on when the child is considered a person and a citizen in my book.
The drug thing? Well, idealism would say it's their choice. My mind says that as long as we financially support these fuck-heads, perhaps it's better that they're illegal. I'm not sure, really. Abortion and gay marriage...I think too much attention goes to these issue. The whole gay marriage thing is not important to me. Abortions are sad, in a sense that so many women I've know have done it. All I know is...these are not what I'm primarily going to base my decesion off of. Most likely it's in this order 1)Foreign policy 2)Energy 3)Immigration 4)Education 5)Medical 6)Entitlements 7)Taxes
well it is a viable baby at 24 weeks, and it is not a person until birth. so you are for abortion, just like me, but abortion shouldnt be used as a form of birth control, but should be allowed on the mothers request as she knows best.
